Picked up a 2023 V60 CC last week and I gotta get it ready for a ski trip to Vermont in February. Ive been looking at the official Volvo load bars since the dealer has a deal on them but they look pretty tall and bulky. People online seem to love the Thule WingBar Edge for the low profile look but then I saw a post saying the sunroof might hit the crossbar if you try to vent it. Now Im paranoid about cracking the glass... does anyone here run those Thules or should I stick to something higher up? Also looking for a slim box that doesnt take up the whole roof.
^ This. Also, honestly, I found the Thule options for the V60 CC pretty underwhelming lately. They promise a sleek look but the engineering just isnt there for the newer Volvo rails if you actually use your sunroof. I had issues with clearance and wind noise... just not as good as expected for the price. Unfortunately, the premium brands often fail on the small details for these specific wagon rails. If you want to avoid the bulky dealer bars, here is the setup I finally settled on:
I swapped to Yakima JetStream Black 50 inch bars after worrying about glass flex...
Unfortunately, my experience with the low-profile look on the V60 CC wasnt as great as I hoped it would be. I tried the Thule WingBar Edge Roof Rack System Black first because everyone raves about the aesthetics, but the clearance issues are a genuine nightmare if you have the panoramic roof. Even the factory ones the dealer sells are basically rebranded Thule units that sit way too high or way too low with no middle ground.
Works great for me
