I'm looking to upgrade the rims on my BMW 330i and would love some advice. Currently, I have the stock 17-inch wheels, but I'm considering moving up to either 18 or 19 inches. What are the best options for rims that balance aesthetics and performance? Are there specific brands or styles that you recommend? Also, will I need to change my tires if I switch sizes? Any insights on fitment, offsets, or potential issues would be greatly appreciated!

ngl i learned the hard way with my setup. going straight to 19s seemed like a good idea for that flush look but man, it came with some baggage.

  • first off, watch the offset. i picked a set that poked out too much and i was rubbing on every tiny dip in the road until i rolled my fenders... definitely check those clearance numbers before buying anything.
  • tires get way pricier when you jump up. like, a lot more than youd think for just an inch difference. plus you gotta buy new ones anyway if you change rim size.
  • make sure to check the weight too. my heavy ones made the steering feel sluggish compared to stock. i would suggest staying cautious with the width. sticking to something closer to factory specs saves a lot of stress if you dont wanna deal with rubbing issues or extra suspension wear. its a balancing act for sure.

tbh i have gone through a few sets of wheels on my 330i and i always end up coming back to 18s. 19s look killer, but the ride quality gets pretty harsh if the roads in your area arent perfect. you also have to be way more careful with potholes since the sidewall is so thin. 18s are a decent middle ground because they still look aggressive but you keep some comfort. and yeah, you definitely need new tires since the diameter wont match anymore. as for brands, honestly just look at what BBS or Apex has. they basically specialize in bmw fitment so you cant go wrong with whatever style you pick from them. just make sure you check the offset so they sit right in the wheel well. personally id stick to 18s for the best balance of performance and daily driving.
