Hey everyone! I just recently took delivery of my BMW iX, and while I’m absolutely in love with the minimalist interior and that gorgeous Oyster upholstery, I’m already starting to stress about keeping the floors pristine. With the rainy season fast approaching, I really need to find a solid set of all-weather floor mats before I accidentally track in mud or road salt.
I’ve been eyeing the official BMW liners, but I’ve heard some feedback that the coverage isn't as comprehensive as it could be, especially around the footwell edges. I’m also considering brands like WeatherTech or TuxMat, but I’m a bit torn. I want something that offers maximum protection, but I also don’t want it to look too 'industrial' or cheapen the high-end feel of the cabin. Since the iX has that unique flat floor and open space under the dashboard, a precise fit is super important to me so things aren't sliding around.
For those of you who have already outfitted your iX, which mats did you choose? Are the OEM ones worth the premium, or is there an aftermarket brand that offers a more premium look and better coverage? I'd love to hear your thoughts on fitment and how easy they are to clean!

Honestly, if u want that premium feel, go with TuxMat for BMW iX. They cover way more than the BMW iX Genuine All-Weather Floor Mats which have weak edges. TuxMats look like leather so they match the Oyster vibe way better than the WeatherTech FloorLiner HP for BMW iX which is durable but feels too industrial. TuxMat is basically the move for that open floor!!
sooo I went through this last year when I first got my iX and was highkey stressing about that light interior too. basically, floor mats are a total must-have cuz road salt and mud will literally ruin ur carpet in one winter, which sucks for future resale value. i wanted something that protected well but didn't want to spend another $200+ right after the big down payment lol.
honestly, i just wanted something practical that worked without looking like a construction zone. i ended up finding the VIWIK All-Weather Floor Mats for 2022-2024 BMW iX and they’ve been a lifesaver for me. i think i paid around $110, which felt like a much better value. they fit the flat floor perfectly and haven't budged once. they might not be as "premium" as the ones mentioned earlier, but they're super easy to hose off and keep the mud away from the oyster upholstery. i'm reallyyy satisfied with them! gl!
Similar situation here! I looked at TuxMat too, but honestly found 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Floor Mats for BMW iX offer a better technical fit for the Oyster interior. They dont look industrial, and the MAXpider backing grips the flat floor perfectly without sliding. Quick tip: the KAGU series texture basically matches the minimalist iX vibe way better than rubber. Works well and I'm super satisfied. gl!
Sooo, I've been doing a ton of research lately and honestly, I totally agree that being practical about the cost is important after such a big purchase. It's reallyyy hard to decide when looking at all the market data though! Here is what I've noticed while comparing the different tiers of mats:
1. The high-end 'custom' brands seem to use fancy 3D scanning, but then some mid-range ones claim to have the same precise fit for like half the price?
2. There’s a big difference in the finish—some are super matte and others are really shiny, which might look kind of weird against the iX's minimalist dash.
3. I’ve seen some feedback that the cheaper materials might smell like chemicals for a few weeks, which would be such a bummer in a brand-new car. But I'm basically just wondering if the ones that don't look 'industrial' actually protect against road salt well enough? Or do they just look pretty but let the gunk soak through eventually? I'm not 100% sure yet, it's all so confusing for a beginner like me lol.
