just got a 2021 Pacifica for our Florida trip next month and need to protect the floors. Im torn between the TuxMat liners for the full coverage or just getting WeatherTechs to save some cash for a console organizer. Budget is $300 total... which one is actually better for messy kids?

honestly i had some issues with the WeatherTech FloorLiner HP in my last van. they started warping pretty quick in the florida heat which was super annoying for how much they cost. unfortunately they just didnt hold up as well as i expected with my messy kids and the edges always curled after a few months. if you want to stay under that $300 limit id actually suggest looking at the SMARTLINER Floor Mats 3 Row Liner Set instead. they are way cheaper and basically do the same job. that way you can easily afford the JoyTutus Chrysler Pacifica Center Console Organizer which you definitely need... the center console is a bottomless pit without it. you will be happy you saved the cash for the trip. TLDR: skip the name brands and go with smartliner to save enough for a console tray and some extra cleaning supplies.

Quick reply while I have a sec... since you are heading to FL the heat is a real factor for these materials. Ive spent way too much time looking into this for my own van and here is how I see the trade-offs for that $300 limit.

These are basically like giant buckets for your floor. They have the highest vertical coverage out there, which is huge for spilled drinks or sand. The material feels more like luxury vinyl than hard plastic. Pros: absolute best coverage for messy kids. Cons: They run about $200 plus, so it eats most of the budget.

I like these because they tend to stay flatter in the sun. They dont have that stiff plastic feel that leads to curling at the edges after a few months. Pros: usually cheaper at around $160, which lets you buy a Vesul Center Console Tray for Chrysler Pacifica too.

If you go with the cheaper mats, definitely grab these. Messy kids usually mean footprints on the back of your nice seats and these are way easier to wipe down than the upholstery. TuxMat is the winner for floor protection, but the Husky plus some storage gear probably makes the road trip more organized. Both are totally fine with the stow-n-go seating too.

TL;DR: Grab a Covercraft UVS100 Custom Sunscreen Silver. It protects the dash from that FL sun and keeps things cooler tho. Check PacificaForums for more heat-protection hacks. Im very satisfied.

Re: "honestly i had some issues with the WeatherTech..." - yeah that warping is a total nightmare! Before I dive into some killer budget hacks, r u guys running the 7-passenger or 8-passenger setup? It makes a huge difference for the floor coverage and what actually fits the stow-n-go wells properly. If ur trying to stay under $300, those TuxMats r amazing but they definitely eat up like the whole budget. I absolutely love the SMARTLINER All Weather Custom Fit Floor Mats for Chrysler Pacifica instead! They r fantastic because u get almost the same laser-cut protection as the premium brands but for way less cash. Honestly, going with those allows u to grab a Lusso Gear Kids Travel Tray with Dry Erase Board too. My kids r messy as heck and having a tray for snacks and toys is a total lifesaver for long Florida drives! You gotta maximize every dollar for those road trips... especially with the salt and sand down there.
