What roof rack works best for a Chrysler Voyager?

Hey everyone! I’m looking to add some extra storage to my Chrysler Voyager for our upcoming family road trips, but I’m a bit overwhelmed by the options. My van has the flush side rails, and I’m specifically looking for a crossbar setup that can securely hold a heavy cargo box without making too much wind noise on the highway. I’ve looked at some Thule kits, but they are pretty pricey. Does anyone know of a more budget-friendly brand that fits the Voyager’s roof profile perfectly? I really need something that is easy to install and remove by myself. For those with this van, which specific roof rack system has worked best for you in terms of durability and quietness?

I went through this last year. I initially tried some cheap universal bars on my Voyager, but the wind noise was unbearable above 60mph. Just a heads up, DONT ignore the dynamic load ratings for those flush rails. I finally swapped to the Yakima JetStream Crossbars 60 inch with the Yakima RidgeLine Towers, and honestly, the aerodynamic T-slot design made a world of difference for my cargo box setup. It fits the van's profile much better than the budget sets I've seen.

Seconding the recommendation above! Definitely dont skimp on quality because cheap bars can actually damage those flush rails. In my experience, if the Thule kits are too pricey, Brightlines Roof Rack Crossbars for Chrysler Voyager are a solid, budget-friendly alternative. They're designed specifically for the Voyager profile and are way quieter than universal kits. Just be careful not to overtighten the mounting bolts during install; I've seen folks strip the threads when they're rushing!

Like someone mentioned, the noise and the load ratings are the two biggest things to watch out for! I am so glad people brought up the Yakima and Brightlines options because safety is basically everything when you have the whole family in the van. I love seeing people take this seriously! I remember being so paranoid on our first trip that I stopped every 50 miles just to shake the bars and make sure they were still tight... it was exhausting lol. Honestly tho, just jump on YouTube and search for voyager roof rack comparisons. There is this one amazing video where a guy tests a bunch of budget setups for wind noise and it is fantastic! It really helped me see which ones are actually worth it versus just cheap junk. Just check the manufacturer site too because they usually have a compatibility tool that works way better than me trying to explain it here!
