Hey everyone! I finally joined the club and picked up my new IONIQ 5 last week. I’m absolutely in love with the 'living room' vibe and the airy feel of the cabin, but now that I’m daily driving it, I’m realizing it could use a few functional upgrades to really make the space work.

I’ve noticed that while the sliding center console is a cool concept, it’s basically just a giant, disorganized pit for my keys and sunglasses right now. Are there any specific tray inserts or dividers you recommend to keep things from rattling around? Also, I’m dying to know what people are doing with that magnetic panel to the left of the driver display. It seems like such a wasted opportunity if I don't find a neat phone mount or magnetic clip for it!

Since I have the lighter grey interior, I’m also a bit worried about stains and scuffs. I’m looking for high-quality floor mats that cover that flat floor area properly—has anyone tried the TuxMat or 3D MAXpider options? I want to keep the futuristic look while actually making the car practical for daily errands. For those of you who have had yours for a while, what are your top 3 'must-have' interior accessories that you’d recommend to a new owner?

Seconding the recommendation above! For mats, comparing TuxMat Floor Mats for Hyundai Ioniq 5 vs the 3D MAXpider Kagu Series Floor Mats mentioned earlier, TuxMat wins on value cuz they cover way more carpet. Definitely the best choice for that light interior. Also, skip the pricey mounts and grab a Syncwire Magnetic Phone Car Mount for the dash panel. It’s cheap, sturdy, and works perfect. Basically saves ur interior and ur wallet haha!

Sooo glad you joined the club!! The IONIQ 5 is literally like driving a spaceship lol. For that "pit" in the console, you highkey need the BestEvMod Ioniq 5 Center Console Organizer Tray. It basically works by creating a tiered system so your small stuff stays on top while bigger items hide underneath. It's a game changer for organization!!

Regarding that magnetic panel, it's actually just a steel plate behind the fabric. I recommend the Spigen OneTap Magnetic Dash Mount for MagSafe because it uses high-strength magnets to keep your phone from sliding during acceleration.

For your light interior, honestly go with TuxMat Hyundai IONIQ 5 Floor Mats. They have way more "vertical" coverage than the 3D MAXpider Kagu Series Floor Mats, which is HUGE for protecting that light grey carpet from salt or mud scuffs.

My top 3 must-haves:
1. Console tray (for sanity!)
2. TuxMats (for total protection)
3. Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Hyundai IONIQ 5 to stop fingerprints on those huge screens.

Idk if you've looked at cargo liners yet?? Anyway, gl with the new ride!! peace.

Looks like everyone has the basics covered with the console trays and those TuxMats, which I definitely agree are the best for total coverage. From a safety and DIY maintenance perspective though, I would add a couple of things since you have that light interior. You really want to stay on top of those light surfaces before they stain. I found that doing a quick wipe down with Chemical Guys InnerClean Interior Detailer every few weeks keeps the light grey from picking up denim transfer or oils from your skin. Also, if you are worried about the tech and safety side of things, I highly recommend installing a dashcam. I did the install myself and it is pretty straightforward to tuck the wires into the trim. I went with the VIOFO A139 Pro 3-Channel Dash Cam because it covers the front, rear, and cabin. It gives me a lot of peace of mind when parking in public lots. One last thing for the DIY crowd: get some XPEL Door Sill Guard Universal Clear Protection tape. Those plastic sills on the IONIQ 5 get scuffed super easily when people get in and out with boots, and this stuff is basically invisible but saves the finish.

yo, congrats on the new ride! honestly, I’ve had my IONIQ 5 for about a year now and while it looks amazing, I’ve had some real frustrations getting the interior 'just right'. i mean, it’s a great car, but ngl, keeping that light interior clean is gonna be a full-time job. I’ve been through a few setups now and unfortunately, I’m a bit disappointed with how some of these 'must-haves' actually perform in reality.

Here is what I’ve learned from my experience:

- **the center console struggle:** I actually bought one of those tray inserts for that 'pit' you mentioned. Unfortunately, the first one I got was made of poor quality plastic that rattled every time I hit a bump. It was totally distracting. I eventually had to modify it with some industrial felt just to make it tolerable. My advice? Be very cautious about the structural fit—some of these third-party parts are pretty poorly manufactured and don't meet basic vibration standards.
- **the magnetic panel:** honestly, this was a major letdown for me. I tried a few magnetic mounts there, but I found that mounting a heavy phone so close to the driver display felt a bit risky from a safety perspective. It cluttered my peripheral vision too much. I ended up just using a small magnetic clip for my sunglasses instead, which is safer and less distracting tbh.
- **floor protection:** since I have the grey interior too, I went with those heavy-duty, high-wall mats. The ones I got cover the 'dead pedal' area well, which is where the most permanent scuffs happen. However, not all brands are equal. I found that some of the popular ones can be surprisingly slippery when wet, which is a major hazard I hadn't expected. I’d suggest prioritizing a high-friction surface over just the futuristic look.

Anyway, take your time with it... don’t rush into buying everything at once cuz a lot of the stuff out there is not as good as expected. Good luck with the new EV though! 👍

I once had a loose bottle jam my brake pedal, so I'm big on floor safety! WeatherTech FloorLiner for Hyundai Ioniq 5 is way safer than cheap mats cuz they're rigid and stay pinned. If ur budget-conscious, Smartliner Custom Fit Floor Mats for Hyundai Ioniq 5 are solid but thinner. Also, grab the Vesul Center Console Organizer for Hyundai Ioniq 5 to stop items flying during turns. Lesson learned: keep the floor clear! 👍
