Hey everyone! I just recently took delivery of my new Hyundai IONIQ 6, and I’m absolutely loving the driving experience so far. However, I’ve noticed that the standard carpet mats that came with the car are already starting to show every bit of dirt and grass I track in. With the rainy season approaching, I’m getting a bit anxious about keeping that clean, modern interior looking pristine.

I’ve been doing some research, but I’m a bit overwhelmed by the options. I’m looking for something high-quality—ideally an all-weather material like TPE or heavy-duty rubber that can handle spills and mud. Since the IONIQ 6 has that unique flat floor and specific footwell curves, I’m really picky about the fitment. I’ve looked at brands like TuxMat and WeatherTech, but I’ve heard mixed things about how they accommodate the dead pedal area and whether they stay firmly anchored to the factory floor clips.

I’d prefer something that looks sleek and doesn’t feel too 'industrial' or slippery when my shoes are wet. Does anyone have a specific brand they’ve installed in their IONIQ 6 that offers a perfect, edge-to-edge fit, especially for that wide rear floor space?

In my experience, premium mats use TPE material cuz it's super durable and wont slip. Fitment is REALLY important for safety so you dont block the pedals. I would suggest the TuxMat Floor Mats for Hyundai IONIQ 6. They cover literally every inch, even that dead pedal area. Make sure to use the factory clips... tbh they stay locked in perfectly. gl!

I totally get the anxiety cuz the I6 interior is way too nice to ruin! Honestly, I’ve been thinking about ur question and safety is really the biggest factor here. Basically, you want a mat that's rigid enough so the edges don't curl over time, because if that material catches ur pedal, it's actually dangerous.

For your situation, I'd recommend looking at the 3D MAXpider KAGU Series All-Weather Floor Liners for Hyundai IONIQ 6. I'm super satisfied with them because they aren't that bulky "industrial" rubber; they have a sleek carbon fiber texture that fits the modern vibe perfectly. The best part is the "MAXpider" backing—it basically grips the carpet like Velcro so it literally cannot slide, even if you don't use the clips (tho you definitely should). They cover the dead pedal fully and the fitment on that wide rear floor is 10/10. Plus, they’re usually a bit better on the wallet than some big names. gl! 👍

I went through this last year. I was super cautious about safety. Basically, material choice affects pedal clearance.

1. High-density TPE in the WeatherTech FloorLiner HP for Hyundai IONIQ 6 stays rigid, preventing it from curling under the brake.
2. Secure clips are vital; even a tiny slide can jam the accelerator.

Honestly, I had to be careful and just chose to prioritize safety... make sure they dont move! gl

Curious about one thing: are you prioritizing volumetric liquid capacity or a low-profile aesthetic?? In my own search, i spent ages analyzing friction coefficients and polymer specs for my setup. I found that high-density TPE brands outperform cheap PVC, which usually feels way too 'industrial' and slippery. Lmk your preference so I can share more of my market research and the technical specs i've gathered!!

Like someone mentioned, the fitment on that flat floor is tricky. I've tried many different setups over the years, and honestly, you dont need to spend a fortune to get something that performs well. If you want a less industrial look, here is what worked for me:

  • 3D MAXpider KAGU Series Floor Mats for Hyundai IONIQ 6
  • These have a carbon fiber texture that looks way more premium than regular rubber. They stay put because of the proprietary backing, so they dont slide even if the clips are loose.
  • Hyundai Genuine All-Weather Floor Liners
  • I found these online for a decent price. Since they are OEM, the anchors are exactly where they should be and the fit is guaranteed. I prefer the MAXpider personally because they look sleek and arent slippery when wet. They handle mud and spills just fine but dont look like they belong in a work truck... definitely worth checking out.

Totally agree with the above! I've been through so many sets over the years and fitment is literally EVERYTHING when it comes to safety. Honestly, I've had issues with some 'universal' mats sliding around and it's super dangerous near the pedals... not worth the risk tbh. While TuxMat Floor Mats for Hyundai IONIQ 6 has great coverage, I actually had a kinda disappointing experience with how 'industrial' some of the heavy rubber ones felt—they were way too rigid and sometimes caught my heel when trying to brake.

If you want something that looks sleek and isn't slippery, I'd suggest 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Floor Mats for Hyundai IONIQ 6. They use a textured material that looks way more premium and fits the I6's modern interior vibes perfectly. The backing is like velcro so it literally DOES NOT move, which is a huge plus for safety. They also clip right into the factory floor posts so they stay anchored. Plus, they're way easier to clean than the deep ridges on the WeatherTech FloorLiner HP for Hyundai IONIQ 6 mentioned earlier... dont get me started on how hard those are to scrub lol. Anyway, just my two cents from years of trial and error! gl with the ride!!

Hey, I've spent way too much time testing how different materials handle the flat floor in the I6 during more spirited driving. Honestly, I did a few real-world tests with water and dirt to see how they actually perform when things get messy.

  • BestEvMod All Weather Floor Mats: These have a really unique texture on the bottom that keeps them from sliding at all during cornering. Performance-wise, the grip is great, but they are a bit thinner than the heavy-duty stuff, so I am slightly worried about them wearing down where my heel sits over time.
  • Smartliner Custom Fit Floor Mats: I tried these out because they have much higher side walls. During my spill test, the ridges actually kept about a cup of water contained without it sloshing over the edges onto the carpet. Definitly more of a rugged feel, though they are a little bit stiffer to install around the seat tracks. It is realy wierd how much the friction coefficient changes when your boots are wet vs dry. Both of these stayed anchored to the factory clips perfectly fine, but the BestEvMod felt a bit more natural underfoot tbh. Just some food for thought based on my own testing stuff!!!
