I just picked up my first Jeep Wrangler and I’m beyond excited to start making it my own! Since it’s currently bone stock, I’m looking for some advice on the absolute must-have accessories to get things started. I’m planning on doing a mix of daily driving and some light weekend trail riding, so I want to balance functionality with style. I've been looking at grab handles and all-weather floor mats, but I’m curious what experienced owners consider essential. Should I prioritize a hoist for the hardtop or maybe an entry guard kit first? What were the first few things you bought that actually made a difference in your day-to-day driving? I’d love to hear your top 3 'day one' recommendations!

Curious about one thing: are you planning on doing the installs yourself or taking it to a shop? Honestly, I'm kinda nervous about messing with my new rig, so I've been sticking to easy DIY stuff. I'd definitely grab the Mopar Tailgate Reinforcement Kit if you plan on a bigger spare later. It's safer than just winging it. TL;DR: Safety first before style! Lmk if you're handy with a wrench haha

OMG congrats on the new Jeep!! Seriously, you are gonna have so much fun with it! Ngl, I just started my Jeep journey a few months ago too, so I totally get that excitement! I wanted to buy basically everything at first, but I had to be practical since some of this stuff is actually kinda pricey lol.

For your situation, here's what I recommend based on what I actually use every single day. First, you HAVE to get the Mopar All-Weather Floor Mats for Jeep Wrangler JL 4-Door. Honestly, they're like $160ish but they fit perfectly and save your carpet from all the mud and spills. Second, grab some Mopar Jeep Wrangler JL Grab Handles. They make hopping in and out so much easier, especially if you plan on a lift later!

But if you have a hardtop and plan on taking it off solo, you gotta prioritize a hoist. I went with the Lange Originals Hoist-A-Top for Jeep Wrangler JL and it's amazing. It was around $500, which is a bit of an investment, but it saves your back and prevents you from dropping the top! I think the entry guards are nice too, but maybe wait on those? Idk, I just feel like the mats and hoist make a bigger difference in how you actually USE the Jeep day-to-day. Plus, the hoist basically doubles as storage for the top so it doesn't take up floor space in the garage! Anyway, so yeah, definitely start there. Good luck with the build, peace! 👍

Honestly, skip the cheap entry guards. I got the Mopar Jeep Wrangler Door Sill Guards and they're fine, but they didn't stop everything. Wish I'd just grabbed a Rugged Ridge Dash Multi-Mount with Phone Holder instead cuz the factory cubby is basically useless on trails. Lowkey bummed about my first picks lol.

Honestly, for daily driving and light trails, I'd highkey focus on bang-for-your-buck stuff first.

1. **Sunshade** - seriously, if you take the top off, the sun is BRUTAL. A mesh shade is super cheap and stays on under the hardtop.
2. **Headlight Upgrade** - the stock halogen lights are kinda trash if you're driving at night.
3. **Quick Disconnects** - if you're hitting trails, these make a HUGE difference in ride quality for like $100.

Good luck! ✌️

Ok so, I'd actually suggest a different approach than just buying random interior bits. In my experience over the years, the best day-one investment is protecting the drivetrain and recovery, even for light trails.

1. Mopar 77072345 Rock Rails vs generic steps: Real rails protect your rockers from stumps, whereas steps just fold.
2. Warn VR EVO 10-S Winch with Synthetic Rope: Honestly, a winch is better than any floor mat when you're stuck!

Focus on the bones first, then the style. gl!

Late to the party but I’ve been focusing more on the actual performance side lately. Tbh I'm still a bit of a newbie with the technical stuff, but I’ve been testing how different tire pressures affect the ride on weekends. If you’re doing any trails, you basically need a way to manage your tires or the ride is gonna be super rough and bouncy. * Viair 88P Portable Compressor - This is a lifesaver. You can air down for the dirt to get better traction and then fill back up for the drive home. Makes a huge difference in how the Jeep actually handles. * Element E50 Fire Extinguisher - Maybe sounds boring, but most groups require one for safety and it's super small and light. I’m still figuring out the best PSI for my setup, but definitely look into a good compressor first...
