Hey everyone! I just picked up a new Kia Sportage Hybrid a few weeks ago, and while I’m absolutely loving the ride, I’ve quickly realized that the factory carpet mats aren't going to cut it for long. With the rainy season coming up and a couple of messy kids in the back seat, I really need to upgrade to some solid all-weather floor mats as soon as possible.
I’ve been doing some research, but I’m a little worried about the fitment since the Hybrid (HEV) floor layout can sometimes be slightly different from the standard gas model due to the battery placement. I’ve looked at the official Kia OEM liners, but I’ve also heard great things about brands like TuxMat and WeatherTech for better side-wall coverage. I really want something that locks into the factory floor anchors perfectly and doesn't leave gaps where dirt or slush can fall through to the carpet.
I’m willing to spend around $200 for a full set if the quality is there, but I don't want to deal with the hassle of returning mats that don't quite line up with the Hybrid's specific dimensions. For those of you who have a Sportage Hybrid, which brand did you go with and how is the coverage in the second row? Any specific recommendations for a set that fits like a glove?
sooo i totally feel u on this. when i first got my sportage hev, i was literally paralyzed trying to find mats cuz i heard the battery makes the floor layout weird. i've been driving kias for years but the hybrid stuff is still kinda new to me, so i was extra cautious lol. i basically wanted something that wouldnt let gunk slide under. here's what i suggest:
- TuxMat for 2023-2025 Kia Sportage Hybrid HEV: honestly these have the BEST coverage. they go way up the walls so ur kids wont get mud on the actual carpet. they lock into the factory anchors perfectly too. i LOVE how they look.
- WeatherTech FloorLiner for 2023-2025 Kia Sportage Hybrid: these are SUPER tough and easy to hose off, but i noticed they leave small gaps on the sides compared to the others. the biggest lesson i learned is to ALWAYS double-check the part number... the gas version wont fit that back floor because of the battery hump. anyway, gl! peace
> I’ve looked at the official Kia OEM liners, but I’ve also heard great things about brands like TuxMat and WeatherTech for better side-wall coverage. Respectfully, I'd consider another option before you drop a ton of cash on those big names. I had a moment to think about this more, and honestly, everyone overhypes the "luxury" mats way too much. Don't get me wrong, TuxMat is nice, but if you've got messy kids, they're actually a nightmare to scrub clean because of that quilted texture. Plus, like you mentioned, the Sportage HEV floor layout is its own beast. The hybrid battery under the seat means the rear floor is flatter but slightly higher than the gas model. If you get mats that aren't *specifically* labeled for the HEV, you're gonna have gaps or wierd bunching... definately not what you want. Instead of the super expensive ones, I really think the Smartliner Custom Fit Floor Mats for 2023-2025 Kia Sportage Hybrid is the better play here. I'm a bit of a newbie with this car, but I did a deep dive on the technical specs and these are legit. They're laser-measured specifically for the hybrid dimensions, so they snap right into the factory anchors perfectly. The coverage in the second row is what sold me. It's a single continuous piece that covers the middle hump entirely. Basically, it's total lockdown for spills. It's a bit of a stiffer plastic than the factory Kia Sportage Hybrid All-Weather Floor Mats, but it fits like a glove and stays well under your $200 budget. It's way easier to just hose them off after a muddy weekend too. Just my experience tho!! gl!
Just catching up on this thread and wanted to add a few more options to the mix since everyone's focus seems to be on coverage and price. Like someone mentioned, the floor layout for the hybrid is pretty specific, so you really have to be careful with part numbers or you'll end up with a mess.
Came here to say the same thing lol. Great minds think alike I guess.
