Hey everyone! I’m looking to gear up my Range Rover Velar for some upcoming road trips and could use your expertise. I love the sleek profile of the Velar, so I’m hesitant to add anything too bulky that might ruin the aesthetic. I'm currently torn between the official Land Rover accessories and aftermarket options like Thule. Does anyone have experience with wind noise on the WingBar Evo versus the OEM bars? Also, since I have the panoramic sunroof, I’m a bit worried about clearance issues with certain mounting hardware. I primarily need to carry a slim cargo box and occasionally a couple of mountain bikes. What setups have worked best for you?

Honestly, Yakima Whispbar Flush Bar beats OEM and WingBar for noise—dead silent.
- Box: Inno Shadow 16 Cargo Box
- Hitch: Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Hitch Rack
Zero pano roof clearance issues, right?

High-end looks dont gotta be expensive!
1. Rhino-Rack Vortex StealthBar is cheaper and sleeker than OEM.
2. Silent/pano-safe.
Seriously, pair with Kamei Fosco 420 and Rhino-Rack Hybrid Bike Carrier. Amazing!

TL;DR: Thule WingBar Evo is super quiet and looks sleeker than OEM.

Hey! I was sooo worried about the pano roof on my Velar too, but the clearance with Thule WingBar Evo bars is actually fine. I'm really happy with the Thule Motion XT Alpine box—it's low profile so it doesnt ruin the aesthetic. Wind noise is basically nonexistent at highway speeds. It works well with the Thule ProRide XT Roof Bike Rack too. gl!

Like someone mentioned, the Thule Edge is usually the default, but I actually disagree that it's the best fit for the Velar aesthetic. If you're really looking for that premium factory-plus look, you have to check out the Atera SIGNO RT 110cm Aluminum Bars. They are absolutely fantastic and the German engineering on the foot pack is miles ahead of Thule in terms of rail protection. Quick tip: the clearance issue with the pano roof is usually down to the u-bolts on the box, not the bars themselves. I've found that the Packasport System 90 Cargo Box is the best solution here because it uses a mounting system that keeps the profile incredibly low while still giving the glass plenty of room to vent. Plus, it's fiberglass, so it's way more rigid and quiet than the plastic options mentioned earlier! Honestly, once you go fiberglass you wont ever go back to plastic.

I definitely agree with the others that keeping a low profile is key, especially since the Velar looks so good naked. From a reliability standpoint tho, I've found that spending a bit more upfront saves so much headache later on. Just saw this thread and had to chime in! I went with the Thule Edge Flush Rail bars because they have a more integrated look than the standard ones and they feel rock solid. For the box, if you want something that wont vibrate at high speeds, check out the Thule Vector M. It has a felt-lined base and basically feels like part of the car. It is way more rigid than the Motion series so you dont get that flimsy plastic wobbling. Also, for the bikes, I ditched my old plastic racks for the 1UP USA Roof Rack. It is honestly a tank. Its made of machined aluminum so it doesnt get brittle in the sun like the others. It's a bit of an investment but totally worth it for the peace of mind when you're hitting 70 on the highway. Pano roof clearance is totally fine with this setup too!
