Are there any reliable certified pre-owned Lexus dealerships in Southern California?

I'm super stressed about buying my first car and I literally have no idea what I'm doing sorry if this is a dumb question... I need something reliable for a new job in Irvine starting in three weeks but every dealership website in SoCal makes my head spin. My budget is around $35,000.

I heard Lexus is good but what does certified pre owned even mean? Is it actually safer than a used car from some guy on the street? I was looking at places in Cerritos but I'm scared of getting ripped off. My logic was that a big name place is safer but are they mean to people who dont know stuff? Who is actually honest around here?

Honestly, most big-name dealerships in SoCal have gone downhill recently. I had issues with Lexus of Cerritos myself... the sales pressure there is exhausting if youre a first-timer. Unfortunately, CPO quality isnt as good as expected lately, tho its still way safer than buying from some random guy on the street. Basically, Certified Pre-Owned means the vehicle passed a specific 161-point inspection and carries a factory-backed warranty. It removes the risk of buying a lemon. If you want actual honesty, skip Cerritos and try Longo Lexus in El Monte. They are massive, but tend to be less aggressive with the hidden fees. With your budget, look for a Lexus ES 350 3.5L V6 Sedan for comfort or a Lexus UX 250h Hybrid SUV for that commute. Just make sure the L/Certified inspection sheet is actually in the glovebox before you sign anything.
