I just picked up a new Navigator and love it, but we need more storage for family road trips. I’m looking for a rack that fits the flush rails perfectly and doesn't create too much wind noise. What brand offers the cleanest look and highest weight capacity?

Yo, totally agree with the above! The Thule WingBar Edge Roof Rack System is highkey the cleanest looking setup for the new Navigator. I've seen them on a few rigs and they look factory-fresh.

But yeah, I actually went with the Yakima side of things just because I like their mounting hardware a bit better. Here’s how I’d break it down:

* Thule WingBar Edge Roof Rack System: Best for aesthetics. It stays low to the roof, which is great for garage clearance, tho it can be a bit tricky if ur mounting accessories with thick clamps.
* Yakima SightLine Roof Rack System with Yakima JetStream Crossbars: These are super robust and honestly a bit easier to adjust. The weight capacity is solid (165lbs) and they’re reallyyy quiet at highway speeds.

I’ve been super satisfied with my Yakima setup paired with a Yakima SkyBox NX 18 Cargo Box. It fits the Navigator's scale perfectly without looking like a hat lol. tbh you can't go wrong with either brand, but for the absolute cleanest look, Thule wins. Cheers!

In my experience, you gotta go with the Thule WingBar Edge Roof Rack System. Honestly, I'm super satisfied with mine—they're like $680 but the flush look is highkey the cleanest for the Navigator and they're basically silent at 80mph plus they handle heavy gear with no complaints... worth it tho.

TL;DR: Thule WingBar Edge is the quietest fit for ur rails. gl! 👍

yo, for your situation, i suggest checking out Rhino-Rack Vortex StealthBar Roof Rack. in my experience, these are way more budget-friendly than thule but still give that low-profile, quiet ride. basically, you get the same clean look without the "luxury" tax. just double-check the weight limits for your specific year cuz sometimes flush bars can be a bit more restrictive!! gl with the road trip

Honestly, I am so over the struggle of finding a decent rack for these flush rails. I spent way too much time and money trying to get a setup that didnt look like a complete eyesore or sound like a jet engine on the freeway. It is seriously one of the most frustrating parts of owning a newer Navigator. I remember trying a generic kit and the mounting feet felt like they were gonna snap the trim right off... pure nightmare fuel. Just be super careful if you decide to go the DIY route because the finish on those rails is surprisingly easy to ruin. I would suggest looking into the Inno Aero Base Flush Bar if you want a different fit, but seriously, proceed with caution. The way these rails are designed makes it so easy to mess up the paint if the feet arent seated perfectly. Quick tip: use a proper torque wrench instead of the little tools that come in the box. Also, double-check your clearance if you have the panoramic roof before you tighten everything down for good.

Jumping in here since I just dealt with this for our summer trip. I actually learned the hard way that picking the bars is only half the battle. I bought my current setup based on look but quickly realized reliability on long hauls comes down to the install quality. After about 4 hours on the highway, I started hearing a slight whistle that wasnt there before, and turns out the mounting feet had shifted just a tiny bit. Now I carry a small torque wrench in the glovebox and check them at every gas stop. It sounds like overkill but honestly, with a big SUV like the Navigator, the wind force up there is insane. If youre still undecided, I highly recommend checking out some of the fitment videos on sites like Etrailer. They usually show actual installs on various roof types. It really helped me see how the different feet actually grip the flush rails before I spent any cash. Better to see the mechanics of it than just the promo photos, ngl.

Honestly, I spent way too much time worrying about my rack falling off the first time I installed one. Im definitely a bit of a nervous traveler, so I used to check the bolts at every gas station just to be safe.

  • Just get the official Lincoln ones if you want a guaranteed fit.
  • Go with any Yakima setup if you need more heavy-duty options for extra gear. We ended up sticking with the Yakima brand for our Navigator because the mounting hardware just felt more solid to me as a beginner. No whistling or weird vibrations even when we're loaded up with a massive cargo box and a couple of bikes, which makes me feel way better on the highway. I've been really happy with how it holds everything together without any issues at all... its been a really solid choice for peace of mind.
