Just picked up a new Navigator and the key fob is beautiful, but I’m worried about it getting scratched up in my pocket or if I drop it. I’ve seen some leather and silicone options online, but I want something that still feels premium and doesn't interfere with the remote start signal. Any specific brands or covers you guys recommend that fit the new Lincoln fobs perfectly?

In my experience, you definitely don't need to drop a fortune to keep that fob looking brand new. I've been driving Lincolns for over a decade now, and I've learned the hard way that spending $100 on a "premium" cover is usually overkill. For your situation, I'd suggest looking into a middle-of-the-road leather wrap from a generic brand.

Here’s what I’ve found over the years:
- Leather is the sweet spot. It feels high-end in your hand but won't block the signal like metal shells do.
- Avoid anything with heavy magnetic latches; they're cool but can be finicky with the sensors.
- Look for "open-face" designs so you can still see the Lincoln logo.

I’m currently using a simple TPU-style wrap that looks like polished chrome but it's actually just flexible plastic. It was cheap, basically indestructible, and doesn't interfere with my remote start at all. Honestly, just make sure whatever you get has a tight fit so dirt doesn't crawl inside and scratch the finish anyway. Hope that helps, gl with the new ride!!

Sooo I actually had a bad experience with a metal shell I got recently. It looked cool but totally tanked my remote start range, which was super frustrating... Pro tip: check out the Lincoln forums or even some high-end Etsy shops that do custom leather work. I mean, the leather ones don't block the signal like the metal stuff does. Basically, just stick to natural materials to keep that premium Navigator feel without losing the tech specs!! good luck

So basically the consensus is to avoid cheap silicone and heavy metal cases that mess with your signal. I'm fairly new to the Lincoln family, but I'm sooo satisfied with a simple, high-quality leather sleeve I found on Etsy. Just a heads up though: honestly, make sure it doesn't cover the emergency key release! Safety-first, right? It would literally suck to be stuck if the battery dies. Hope that helps, gl!

Oh man, congrats on the new Navigator! I totally feel u on this. When I got my first Lincoln a few years back, I was terrified of scratching that heavy fob because it’s basically a piece of jewelry.

Warning: Whatever you do, DO NOT buy those cheap $10 silicone skins from random sites. They’re honestly total dust magnets and after a month, they start to stretch out and slide off. Plus, they make a premium car key look like a toy, which is just sad... definitely avoid those.

Sooo, for your situation, I would suggest looking at genuine leather covers from brands like Galen Leather or searching for high-end handmade ones on Etsy. I’ve been using a leather stitch-on cover for years and here is why it works:

* **Signal Strength:** Leather is thin enough that it literally never interferes with my remote start or the proximity sensors.
* **Patina:** Instead of getting scratched, it just gets that cool worn-in look over time.
* **Fit:** If you get the ones designed specifically for the Lincoln five-button fob, they fit like a glove.

Basically, if you want it to still feel like a luxury item, go with real leather or a TPU shell with a metallic finish. My current one has saved me from a dozen drops in the parking lot and the fob underneath still looks brand new. GL with the new ride! 👍
