I’ve been loving my Mazda CX-5, but I’m struggling to find a phone mount that actually works with the unique dashboard layout. The vents are shaped a bit awkwardly for standard clip-ons, and I really want to avoid blocking the infotainment screen or the airflow. I’ve looked at some adhesive options, but I’m worried about ruining the dash material. Does anyone have experience with specific brands like ProClip or a good magnetic mount that fits the CX-5 perfectly? I’m looking for something sturdy that won't vibrate while driving. What specific mounting solutions are you guys using that don't clutter up the interior?

Seconding the recommendation above! ProClip is highkey the gold standard, but if youre looking for something way more budget-friendly, I've had luck with the Lamicall Magnetic Car Phone Mount. It's usually like $15 on Amazon and doesn't clutter things up. Honestly, in my experience, if you want something super sturdy without spending $60, check out the Scosche MagicMount Dash too. It uses a small adhesive base, but it's basically tiny so it wont mess up much of the dash material if you ever peel it off... hopefully! lol anyway, gl!

For your situation, I would suggest looking at ProClip Center Mount 855325. Seriously, I've tried those cheap vent clips and they always sag or block the AC, which is a total mood killer. ProClip is pricey but it actually clips into the dash gaps without adhesive, so you wont ruin the trim. If you want something cleaner, the A-Style CX-5 Magnetic Phone Holder is lowkey great because it fits right between the hazard button and the vents. Just be careful with magnetic ones if you have a heavy phone, they might vibrate a bit on bumpy roads, you know? gl!

Just sharing my experience: after years of driving, I prioritize safety. I eventually chose the Course Motorsports Direct Fit Phone Mount because it's rock-solid and keeps my eyes on the road. gl!

Seconding the recommendation above for ProClip, honestly they really are the goat for the CX-5 interior. But if you're looking for another high-end technical solution, I've gotta mention A-Tach Mounts Mazda CX-5 Custom Dash Mount 10522. It's super similar to ProClip but I've found it sits just a tiny bit lower, which helps if you're like me and hate any windshield obstruction. In my experience, these vehicle-specific brackets are the only way to go if you want zero vibration while driving. Plus, you can pair it with a Scosche MagicMount Pro 2 Magnetic Phone Mount if you want that clean magnetic look without the messy adhesive ruining your dash. gl!

Seconding the recommendation above! ProClip is definitely the goat if you have the budget, but I totally get wanting to keep costs down while keeping the interior looking clean. Basically, the CX-5 has those super slim vents and that soft-touch dash material, so you really gotta be careful about what you stick where. I've spent way too much money testing different setups lol.

If you want something that's highkey sturdy but way cheaper than a full ProClip setup, I'd suggest looking into the Scosche MagicMount Dash Mount. It uses a really small adhesive base that fits perfectly on that little flat trim piece to the right of the steering wheel. Honestly, it doesn't clutter things up at all, and the magnets are strong enough that your phone won't budge even on bumpy backroads.

Another solid budget-friendly move is the IOttie Easy One Touch 5 Dash & Windshield Mount. Instead of sticking it to the soft part of the dash (which I agree, is a bad idea cuz it can leave a ring), you can actually mount it to the windshield just to the left of the infotainment screen. It has a telescopic arm so you can position it exactly where you want without blocking your view of the road or the screen. Plus, it's usually around $25. But yeah, if you're worried about the dash, definitely stick to the windshield or a high-quality adhesive that's known for being 'surface-safe.' Good luck with the search! 👍
