Hey everyone! I’m struggling to find a phone mount for my ND that doesn't block the air vents or interfere with the infotainment screen. Since the cabin is so tight, I’m worried about legroom and finding a stable spot that won't shake on curvy roads. Does anyone have a specific brand or custom bracket recommendation that fits the Miata interior perfectly?
Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, low-profile is the way to go in an ND. I've researched the market and there are two solid pro-tier options that avoid the vents:
• ProClip Console Mount 855193 - It clips onto the side of the center console so it wont move.
• CravenSpeed Gemini Flex Phone Mount - This one bolts into the car frame, so it literally never shakes during cornering.
Both are waaay more stable than generic mounts tbh.
Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, I've tried so many setups over the years and most of them just dont hold up to spirited driving in an ND. Unfortunately, a lot of the expensive custom brackets end up vibrating like crazy on curvy roads. If youre looking to save some cash but still want something that actually works, I've had decent luck with some budget-friendly DIY-ish solutions.
Tbh, you don't need to spend $80+ to get a solid mount. Here are a couple of cheaper alternatives I've used:
* iOttie Easy One Touch 5 Dash & Windshield Mount - Usually around $25. If you mount it low on the passenger side of the transmission tunnel, it doesnt eat into legroom too bad.
* Scosche MagicMount Magnetic Phone Mount - About $15. I actually stuck this to a small piece of plastic wedged into the trim gaps.
I mean, it’s not perfect, but spending big money on a bracket only to have it rattle is sooo frustrating. Just my two cents after dealing with this for 5 years lol. gl!

Oh man, I totally feel u on this! I've been through like four different setups in my ND cuz the cabin is seriously tight. Honestly, if you wanna save some cash and not spend $100+ on those crazy custom brackets, here's what I recommend: go for the IL Motorsport Phone Bracket for Mazda MX-5 ND. It’s basically the gold standard and costs way less than some of the boutique options out there, usually around $35-40.
I mean, I was worried about legroom too since I'm kinda tall, but this thing sits perfectly next to the center console on the passenger side. It doesn't block the vents or the screen AT ALL which is amazing. Pair it with a cheap but solid magnetic head like the SCOSCHE MAGDMB MagicMount Universal Magnetic Mount (usually like $15) and you are golden.
Seriously, I’ve taken my Miata on some highkey aggressive canyon runs and the phone literally doesn't budge. Plus, it’s lowkey the most budget-friendly way to get a "pro" look without drilling holes in ur dash. Just a heads up, the installation takes like 5 mins tops. Anyway, good luck with the search, the ND interior is a struggle but this setup is legit!! 👍
Respectfully, I'd consider another option because spending big on custom mounts feels like a waste. Honestly, I've tracked my ND for years and learned that a simple Scosche MagicMount Flush Mount tucked onto the passenger side dash panel is basically bulletproof. It stays lowkey, costs way less than those shaky brackets, and won't move an inch on twisty roads. Just use a strong adhesive and ur good to go!

Did this last week, worked perfectly
Man I wish I found this thread sooner. Would have saved me so much hassle.
