just got a used 2021 mirage and the interior is basically pristine right now but i know im gonna mess it up. i do a lot of hiking so mud is my main enemy here. trying to decide between these:
im leaning towards the huskys for the floor but honestly i cant tell if they fit the mirage floor pans well since its such a small car. budget is like $250 max for both sets if thats even possible. has anyone tried the cheaper amazon ones or do they just slide around everywhere? need to order something by next week before my next trip...
I love my Mirage so much!! Being terrified of mats slipping, I spent hours researching safety stuff. Finally went with WeatherTech FloorLiner DigitalFit Black and they are amazing! They basically lock in place unlike the cheap sliding ones. For seats, these Dickies Heavy Duty Trader Seat Covers are fantastic because they handle mud like a pro!
I went through this exact thing with my old hatchback. I tried to save money with generic mats once and it was a total nightmare... almost had an accident because the driver side mat bunched up under the brake pedal while I was coming off a muddy trailhead. You really gotta be careful with those cheap universal ones since they never stay in place in a car as small as the Mirage. I eventually grabbed the Husky Liners WeatherBeater Black Front and Second Row and the fit was perfect. They have these little nibs that lock into the carpet so they wont budge an inch. For the seats, you might want to consider Coverking Neosupreme Custom Seat Covers because they dont slide around when you are getting in. Just make sure to install them tight so they dont interfere with the side airbags. Cheap ones are a safety hazard tbh.
Just saw this! Agree 100% about avoiding generic mats. I think some people mention:
Saw this earlier. Like someone mentioned, safety is key. Is yours a manual or CVT?
Quick reply while I have a sec. Like someone mentioned, you really gotta be cautious about those mats sliding around near the pedals. I learned that the hard way when I first got my Mirage... used some cheap generic ones and they kept bunching up while I was driving home. Super sketchy stuff. Honestly, I'm always paranoid about it now. Since your budget is tight, I would suggest checking out OEDRO Floor Mats Custom Fit for 2014-2024 Mitsubishi Mirage. They are basically way cheaper than the big names but still have that laser-measured fit that actually stays put. For seat covers, if you are trying to stay under $250 for the whole setup, maybe look at Gorla Gear Universal Fit Waterproof Neoprene Seat Cover. I've been using one for a bit and it handles mud really well since it's waterproof. Just make sure to avoid those super thin polyester covers... they basically let the dirt soak right through to the actual seats anyway. Stick to neoprene or something thick if you can.
