Which floor mats provide the best fit for a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I just got a 2023 model and honestly I have no idea where to start. I live in Seattle so it rains all the time and I am already tracking mud onto the nice carpets which is stressing me out.
I have a budget of about $150 and really need them before a big road trip next week. I keep seeing these online:
Are the custom shaped ones worth the extra money or should I just get the cheap "universal" ones at the store? I'm worried those will slide around under the pedals...
Grab Smartliner Custom Fit Floor Mats 2-Row Set! Their low-density polyethylene material is super flexible and the laser-measured fit is technically flawless. Honestly, it's such an amazing value for messy Seattle weather!
Universal mats are a safety hazard because they lack the specific anchor points needed for the Eclipse Cross. You want something that utilizes the factory retention clips to prevent the mat from sliding into the pedal assembly. Technically speaking, you should look for mats made from TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) rather than standard rubber. TPE is more durable and wont warp under extreme temperature changes.
Honestly, i made the mistake of buying the dealer ones and was super disappointed. Unfortunately, they just dont have the high side walls you really need for all that Seattle rain. The mud still gets on the carpet somehow... super frustrating. Dont even bother with the universal ones either. I had issues with those bunching up under the brake pedal in my last car and it was actually terrifying. If you want the actual best fit before your trip:
> Are the custom shaped ones worth the extra money or should I just get the cheap "universal" ones at the store? Just saw this while on my break. Universal mats are a huge safety risk tbh. I had some cheap ones slide and bunch up under my brake pedal once... was super scary. Definitely go custom so they lock onto the floor hooks. Check out 3D MAXpider KAGU Series Floor Mats for a decent balance. Quick question tho, are you mostly driving solo or do you have kids or pets?
