Honestly I am so fed up with the charging situation on my new Ariya already and I have only had it for two weeks. I was so excited to get the Evolve+ trim but man the charging cables they give you are just not cutting it for a daily commute in the northeast. I live near Boston and it is already getting chilly and that stock cable is like a frozen noodle every morning. It is so stiff and hard to coil back up and frankly it feels cheap for a car that cost this much.

I spent like two hours last night looking at different Level 2 home stations because my logic was that I could just use the mobile connector but it is taking forever to get a full charge. I am getting like 1 percent an hour maybe? It is ridiculous. So I was thinking about the ChargePoint Home Flex or maybe the Emporia one because people say it is good for the price but then I started reading about NEMA 14-50 outlets vs hardwiring and my brain is just melting. I have a budget of about 900 bucks for the whole setup including the electrician if possible but maybe that is totally unrealistic?

And dont even get me started on public charging. I went to an EVgo station and the cable barely reached the port because of how the Ariya port is positioned on the side. I feel like I need some kind of extension cable but then I read that those are dangerous? Or maybe just a better carrying bag because the one that came with the car is already ripping. I just want a setup that actually works without me having to fight the cable every single morning at 6 AM when I am trying to get to work. What are you guys actually using that doesnt break the bank but also doesnt feel like a cheap toy? I need like a list of the absolute essentials because right now I feel like I bought a spaceship but I am trying to fuel it with a straw...

Ngl, 900 bucks for the whole setup is gonna be tight once you factor in the electrician, especially in the Boston area where labor isnt cheap. I would suggest looking into the Emporia Level 2 EV Charger 48 Amp because its usually much more affordable than the ChargePoint and works just as well. Hardwiring is definitely the way to go for the Ariya tho. It lets you pull the full 48 amps which youll want in the cold. Be very careful about those extension cables for public charging tho. Most of them arent UL listed and can be a huge fire hazard. I would suggest avoiding them entirely and just try to angle the car better. If you need a better bag for the trunk, the BougeRV EV Cable Carry Bag Heavy Duty is decent and wont fall apart like the OEM one. Just make sure to get a quote from a local pro before buying anything... copper prices are wild right now and might eat your whole budget.

Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.

> I am so fed up with the charging situation on my new Ariya already and I have only had it for two weeks. Like someone mentioned, that stock cable is quite problematic in cold weather and unfortunately I am experiencing the exact same frustrations with my Ariya. I have been dealing with this for several months now and it is extremely disappointing that a vehicle of this caliber presents such logistical difficulties. My attempts to find a cost-conscious setup that functions reliably have all been unsuccessful thus far, so I am still struggling with the same charging limitations every single morning. It is honestly quite frustrating that there is no straightforward resolution for us.
