I recently picked up a Nissan Frontier and I’m itching to take it out on some trails, but it’s currently bone stock. I’m trying to figure out which off-road accessories are actually worth the investment versus what’s just for show. I’m mainly looking at doing some moderate overland trips and light rock crawling, so I'm considering things like skid plates for underbody protection and maybe a subtle leveling kit. Since the Frontier has a unique bed rail system, I’m also curious about rack setups that don't interfere with utility. What are the 'must-have' mods you guys recommend for a beginner setup? Also, if you have specific brand suggestions that fit the Frontier’s geometry well, I’d love to hear them!

Sooo, in my experience with these trucks, you definitely gotta look at the ShrockWorks Nissan Frontier Rock Sliders first. Seriously, if your hitting rocks, your rocker panels are gonna get trashed way before you even touch that skid plate. Also, for the bed system, check out the BillieBars Nissan Frontier Bed Bars because they bolt right into the Utili-track and wont block your bed space at all. GL!

Seconding the recommendation above for protection first! But tbh if you're on a budget, look at All-Pro Off-Road Apex Rock Sliders for a solid alternative. Also, maybe consider the CBI Offroad Nissan Frontier Bed Rack because it's super sturdy and works great with those factory rails without losing too much utility. Good luck dude!

Ok so, I've been through this exact process with my 22 Frontier. Honestly, you dont need to spend thousands right away to have fun. Since youre doing light rock crawling, protect your underside first!! The stock plastic is basically useless. I went with the Hefty Fabworks 2022+ Nissan Frontier Steel Front Skid Plate and it's saved my oil pan more than once. It's around $300-$350 but cheaper than a new engine lol.

Here is what I recommend for a budget starter setup:
- Tires: Seriously, skip the lift for now and get Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 265/70R17 tires. They fit stock and are literally the best all-arounders for the price.
- Leveling: Grab the Rough Country 2-inch Leveling Kit for Nissan Frontier for like $100. It levels the rake and gives enough clearance for most trails.
- Bed Rack: To keep the Utili-track system functional, check out the ZROADZ Mid Gate Truck Bed Rack. It mounts perfectly without blocking the rails.

Basically, focus on protection and rubber first. You'll save money in the long run by not breaking stuff! gl!
