I just picked up my Ram 1500 RHO last week and man this thing is a beast. Im in Denver and planning to hit some trails soon but I need to gear it up first. I spent like three hours looking at tonneau covers online and everyone raves about the Retrax but then I saw a guy on a forum saying the canister eats up way too much room if I want to fit my dirt bike in the back.

Also looked into those Rigid light bars for the bumper but some people are saying the wiring harness on the 2025s is slightly different than the TRX so now Im just confused. Got about 3k to spend right now for the first round of mods. What are you guys actually putting on these things that fits right without a massive headache?

Congrats on the RHO! It is a total beast but you gotta be careful with the bed space. If you are hauling a dirt bike, definitely skip the Retrax. That canister is huge and kills your clearance. I would suggest the Bak Industries BakFlip MX4 Hard Folding Truck Bed Cover because it folds flat against the cab, so you get full bed access for your tires. About the lights, you are right to worry. The 2025 RHO wiring isnt a perfect TRX match. Make sure to verify the pinouts before splicing or you might throw some codes. Id look at the Rigid Industries Radiance Plus 20-inch LED Light Bar but wait for an RHO-specific harness. Tbh, since you are hitting Denver trails, consider these:

If you're hauling a dirt bike, you definitely need a cover that doesn't eat up those front six inches of the bed. In my experience, those canister systems are a nightmare for bike tires because you can't get the front wheel tucked in tight.

  • Lomax Stance Hard Folding Cover is my pick. It stands up against the cab when you need the space, so you get 100% bed access without having to pull the cover off completely.
  • Forget the wiring headache for a second. The Baja Designs Squadron Pro Ram Fog Light Kit is basically the gold standard for these trucks. They usually have the harness situation figured out way faster than the competition and the output is much cleaner.
  • Since you're in Denver hitting trails, you absolutely need to manage tire pressure. I have used the ARB Maximum Performance On-Board Air Compressor on every truck I've owned. It makes airing back up after a day on the rocks way less of a chore.

Late to the party but I'm super satisfied with the TruXedo Lo Pro Soft Roll-Up Truck Bed Cover. It rolls up tiny for bikes and wont break your 3k budget.
