Finally traded in my 1500 for a 2024 TRX and man this thing is a whole different animal compared to my old Rebel setup. Im taking it out to Moab next month for its first real test but the sheer width and weight of this beast is making me second guess my usual gear list. Ive always done the basic recovery stuff but im worried about bottoming out on the bigger ledges or scraping those rockers since the stock ones look a bit flimsy for a truck this heavy. got about 5k set aside to prep it before the trip. besides a good set of rock sliders what are the absolute must haves for a trx specifically? feel like i might be missing something obvious...
Congrats on the TRX, that thing is a beast. Moab is a different world when youre hauling that much weight and width tho. Those factory rails are basically just steps, they wont protect the rockers if you pivot on a rock.
> worrying about bottoming out on the bigger ledges I was in the same boat till I hit a rock last year. Really happy I upgraded the underbody protection first. The stock plates are pretty thin tho, but Foutz Motorsports Ram TRX Full Skid Plate Kit 1/4 inch Aluminum saved my transmission from a nasty crack. It spreads that weight across the frame rails instead of crushing your vitals. Works well for heavy trucks.
No way, I literally just dealt with this yesterday. Small world.
