Hey everyone, I finally pulled the trigger on a Ram 1500 TRX and I’m ready to get it out into the desert. While it’s incredible stock, I want to make sure I’ve got the right protection and gear before hitting the more technical trails. I’m specifically looking at heavy-duty rock sliders and maybe a chase rack for a full-size spare. Since the factory Bilstein shocks are already top-tier, I’m mostly focused on recovery gear and lighting. Does anyone have recommendations for high-clearance bumpers or specific LED pods that mount cleanly? I’m trying to avoid anything that requires heavy cutting. What are your absolute must-have off-road mods for this beast?

sooo i just saw this and congrats on the TRX!! its a beast but the mods add up fast. for your situation, i'd look at these value-focused options: Option A: The Rough Country High-Clearance Front Bumper ($950) vs high-end custom shops ($2k+). The RC is way cheaper and actually offers great clearance without crazy cutting... i've been super satisfied with how it looks. Option B: Lasfit 3-Inch LED Pod Lights vs the big names. Lasfit is like $160 a pair and highkey just as bright for most desert runs. i mean, i have zero complaints about the output. Option C: Go Rhino Sport Bar 2.0 for the chase rack. It's sturdy, usually under $1k, and works well for mounting lights and gear in the bed. Honestly, the best choice is starting with Rough Country and Lasfit cuz u save thousands while still getting solid protection. its basically better to have extra cash for gas and a Vevor Kinetic Recovery Rope 1-inch x 30-ft ($85) anyway lol. peace!

In my experience, it's Addictive Desert Designs Stealth Fighter Front Bumper (clean fit) vs SVC Offroad Mojave Front Bumper (better clearance). Honestly, ADD is better if you wanna avoid heavy cutting. Pair that with Baja Designs Squadron Pro LED Pods and you're set. I'm still learning the ropes, but this combo worked SO well for me over the years... gl!

sooo, i’ve been thinking about your TRX setup and honestly, for technical trails, the absolute first thing i’d grab is a set of White Knuckle Off Road Rock Sliders. they’re super beefy and can actually handle the weight of this massive truck if u drop it on a rock. most 'steps' just fold like paper, so definately go for frame-mounted ones. For the chase rack, the Go Rhino 2.0 Sport Bar is a solid choice cuz it looks aggressive but still gives u room for a full-size spare without losing the whole bed. For lighting, if u want a clean mount without heavy cutting, i’d look at the Rigid Industries D-Series Pro LED Pods for the fog pockets. they fit like a glove and the light throw is insane for the size. Since u mentioned high-clearance bumpers, check out the Chassis Unlimited Altitude Series Front Bumper. It gives u way better approach angles without making the truck look all wierd and bulky. recovery-wise, u gotta have a solid winch. the Warn Zeon 12-S Platinum Winch is basically the gold standard for a truck this heavy... maybe pair it with a Factor 55 UltraHook for extra safety. it’s a bit of an investment but totally worth it for peace of mind. anyway, what kind of technical trails are u planning on hitting first?? good luck with the build!!
