I’m beyond excited for my R2 reservation, but looking at the initial interior reveals, I’m already wondering how to keep that minimalist cabin organized. Since it's a bit smaller than the R1S, I want to make sure I’m maximizing every inch of storage from day one. I’m particularly curious about solutions for that deep center console and the unique door pockets. Are there any specific dividers or tray inserts you guys are eyeing? I’m hoping to find something that matches the sustainable aesthetic without looking cluttered. What are the absolute must-have interior organizers you think we’ll need to keep the R2 looking sharp and functional?

Totally agree with the above! Honestly, those deep bins are a mess waiting to happen. If you’re trying to keep things tidy on a budget, I’d look at the Vancool Universal Mesh Cargo Net 2-Pack for those door pockets to keep stuff from rattling around. Also, simple Standard silicone cupcake liners are a cheap hack for the cup holders to catch crumbs and spills before they get gross. Just my two cents!

Sooo I went through this last year when I got my R1S and let me tell you, that deep console is like a black hole for key fobs and loose change lol. I spent weeks testing different setups cuz I hate clutter. For the R2, I'm already looking at technical specs for custom 3D printed options vs mass market stuff.

Comparing my experiences with two styles:

1. BestEvMod Center Console Organizer Tray for Rivian R1S/R1T (similar to what was mentioned): Great for quick access, basically converts the top section into a usable shelf. But, it can block the deep storage access below if you need it fast.
2. Abstract Ocean Center Console Storage Drawer: I loved this for a more integrated feel. It slides, so you get that technical 'OEM+' look without digging around.

Honestly, I learned that TPU materials are better than hard ABS because they stop things from rattling during off-roading. Definitely gonna look for a TPU liner for those unique R2 door pockets too!!

In my experience, the deep consoles in Rivians are basically black holes lol. Honestly, I'm waiting for BestEvMod Center Console Organizer Tray for Rivian R2 vs a more rugged Twraps Armrest Organizer for Rivian R2 setup. The BestEvMod ones usually have that clean, OEM look, while Twraps uses cool textures. Personally, I'm leaning toward a felt-lined insert cuz it keeps things quiet and matches the sustainable vibe perfectly. Def a day-one buy for me!

This^ Also wanted to add that I'm prioritizing safety for my R2. I'm looking at the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Rivian R2 to prevent shattering and Salusy Silicone Non-Slip Dash Mat so stuff doesn't fly around while driving! Safety first ngl.

Honestly, after owning several EVs, i've realized the deep console is only half the battle. You really have to think about long-term NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) and how the materials hold up after 30k miles. Not sure but i think the R2 might benefit more from soft-touch solutions rather than hard plastic inserts that eventually rattle.

  • Slim under-seat bins. I think the clearance might be tight, but finding a spot for a first aid kit and compressor that doesnt slide around is huge for long-term organization.
  • Felt-lined dividers for the door pockets. IIRC the R2 has those unique open pockets, and without some kind of lining, anything you put in there is going to clatter against the plastic.
  • Cable management clips for the center passthrough. Tbh, keeping the charging cords tidy in such a small cabin is basically essential to maintain that minimalist vibe.
  • Padded liners for the sub-trunk. Not 100% sure on the depth yet, but protecting that area from heavy gear is definately a day one priority for me. Experience tells me that even with the best organizers, if the tolerances arent perfect, youre going to hear it every time you hit a bump.

Honestly, after years of dealing with sub-par aftermarket stuff in my other EVs, I’m planning to just go full DIY for the R2 cabin. Most mass-market organizers have such sloppy tolerances and the materials usually don't hold up to high cabin heat cycles. Tbh I've already started sketching out some CAD models for a modular grid system that utilizes a tight friction fit rather than adhesives, which is way cleaner for the interior finish and preserves the materials. I’m thinking of using high-temp PETG or even some TPU for the sections that need a bit of grip for things like sunglasses or tools. It takes a bit more effort to get the measurements exact since the R2 geometry looks a bit more complex than the R1, but the end result is so much better when you can customize the compartment depth to exactly what you carry every day. Plus, you avoid that cheap plastic rattle you get with some of the generic injection-molded inserts. Definitely recommend the self-service route if you have the tools because you can match the aesthetic perfectly without compromising on the utility of that deep console and those unique door pockets!
