What are you guys actually using to keep the inside of your Solterra from getting trashed? I just picked mine up in rainy Seattle and the mud is already a nightmare. I looked at the official Subaru all-weather mats but they look kinda thin and cheap for the price they're asking. Then I saw some WeatherTech ones online but some people on another thread were saying they don't fit the EV floor plan perfectly because of the center console layout. I'm already over budget after the down payment so I really dont want to waste money on stuff that slides around. Also need something for the back seat because my dog's hair is sticking to that StarTex material like crazy... what actually works for this car?

Honestly, those OEM mats are basically just thin rubber sheets. They lack the high-wall coverage you need for Seattle mud. Over the years, I've found that 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Floor Mats Black actually fit the Solterra's flat floor way better than WeatherTech because of the laser-measured precision fitment. If you're watching the budget tho, here are my top picks for value:

  • OEDRO Floor Mats All-Weather TPE Liners
  • These use high-density TPE and are usually way cheaper than Subaru's mats.
  • Vailge Dog Car Seat Cover for Back Seat Heavy Duty
  • This uses 600D Oxford fabric which is much tougher than the StarTex and easy to shake out. The StarTex material generates a lot of static, which is why the hair sticks like crazy. Honestly, the only way to win is a full hammock cover. It keeps the mud off the floor and the hair off the seats in one go... saves you a ton of vacuuming time later. Dont bother with the expensive dealer accessories when the aftermarket TPE stuff has better friction coefficients anyway.

To add to the point above: honestly, in my experience, TuxMat All-Weather Floor Mats for Subaru Solterra are the way to go for safety. They use specialized clips that lock under the plastic trim so they dont budge near the pedals. Since that center console is a scratch magnet, grab a Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Subaru Solterra 12.3 inch too. It makes a huge difference for keeping things looking new.

Like someone mentioned, that StarTex is brutal. Over the years Ive tried many things but nothing works for this... reminds me of my messy first car. TL;DR: Same boat. Anyway.
