Honestly if you want performance but dont wanna empty your bank account you gotta look at the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus 255/40ZR20. Ive tried many different sets over the years on various cars and these are basically the best bang for your buck out there right now. They grip like crazy in the dry and honestly feel way safer in the rain than the stock tires ever did. Youre gonna save a couple hundred bucks compared to the ultra-premium brands and you wont really notice a massive drop in range either. Theyre super quiet too which is a big deal in a Tesla since there isnt any engine noise to drown out the road. Ngl I was skeptical at first because they are technically all-seasons but they handle corners way better than youd think for the price. If you want that extra punch when you hit the pedal without spending $1500, this is the move imo.

I switched to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in 255/40R20 all around and the difference is night and day. Cornering grip is phenomenal, and the steering response is much more precise than the stock Continentals. Yes, you'll sacrifice about 5-7% range and they're not cheap (~$1,300 for a full set), but if performance is your priority, these are the gold standard. They're still reasonably comfortable for daily driving too, just a bit more road noise.

If you're willing to size down to 19" wheels, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport in 255/45R19 has been my sweet spot for performance without killing range. The slightly taller sidewall provides a better ride quality than the 20" performance tires, while still delivering excellent handling. Plus, they're about 15% cheaper than comparable 20" options. I've put 15,000 miles on mine with minimal wear.
