Finally getting my truck tomorrow morning here in Austin and I am freaking out a bit because I have zero accessories ready. I spent way too much on the beast version so my budget is a bit tight now but I need the basics.
I was looking at screen protectors because of fingerprints but some guys on reddit say it ruins the display clarity while others say its a must have. Same with the floor mats... the official Tesla ones look okay but I heard they get super slick if your boots are wet and I'm gonna be using this for work sites. Are there specific brands that actually fit the weird floor shape right now or should I just wait? What do I actually need on day one so I dont mess up the interior?
I learned the hard way that those screen protectors are mostly a waste of money if you care about seeing the map in direct sun. Putting a matte one on made everything look so grainy that it had to come off after two days. Honestly, just keep a soft cloth in the console for the fingerprints. For the floors tho, you definitely want to be careful with those factory mats. Slipping getting out of a truck with wet boots is no joke. Since youre doing site work, you really need something with actual grip. I suggest the 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Floor Mats for Cybertruck because the fit is spot on for those weird angles. Just watch out for the cheap knockoffs that dont have the right anchors... they can bunch up under your pedals which is super dangerous.
I'd be careful with that giant screen. A buddy of mine actually shattered his display when his tool belt buckled against it, so I suggests the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector GLAS.tR EZ Fit for Cybertruck for 9H protection without the matte blur. For floors, check out 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Custom Fit Floor Liners. They use a textured TPE that wont be slippery like the OEM ones. TL;DR: Clear 9H glass and textured TPE mats are safer.
Huh interesting. I had no idea. The more you know I guess 🤷
Adding my two cents here because I honestly had high hopes for the official gear but was pretty bummed. I picked up the Tesla Cybertruck All-Weather Interior Liners and man... they were a mistake. Like you heard, theyre insanely slick when wet. I almost fell out of the cab after a rainy site visit in Round Rock last week. Not worth the premium price at all. I switched them out for the 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Floor Mats for Cybertruck and the grip is night and day better. Also, dont skip on a console organizer. Without one, that center area is basically a black hole for your keys and phone. I grabbed the Spigen Center Console Organizer Tray for Cybertruck and it saved my sanity. Its cheap and actually fits the weird angles without rattling around like the generic ones I tried first. You really need that tray on day one if you dont want your stuff sliding into the abyss every time you hit the beast mode.
