I’m looking to upgrade the interior of my bZ4X and want some high-quality aluminum pedal covers that actually fit perfectly. I've seen some cheap universal sets online, but I'm worried about them slipping or feeling flimsy. Does anyone know of a specific brand that offers a secure, drill-free installation for Toyota EVs? I'd love something with a good grip that matches the sporty look.

Sooo, I went through this last year when I first got my bZ4X. I was honestly super worried about those cheap eBay sets too cuz I didn't wanna drill into my brand new car or have a pedal pop off while driving... like, talk about a nightmare lol. I ended up finding the G-Parts Aluminum Sports Pedal Covers for Toyota bZ4X and decided to give them a shot since they were pretty affordable, maybe like 30 or 40 bucks iirc. Basically, they just slip over the existing pedals after you pull the factory rubber off. It was a bit of a struggle to get the lip of the new rubber to wrap around the metal plate—my fingers were definitely sore after—but once they clicked on, they felt REALLY solid. I've been using them for months now and they haven't budged at all, even in rain. Plus, the rubber studs on them actually have a nice grip, which is great cuz I was worried about them being slippery. Just sharing my experience, but I'm super happy with how they turned out for the price!!

Respectfully, I'd consider another option. I've been modding Toyotas for like 15 years now and honestly... slip-on covers always make me nervous long-term. I've seen too many "no-drill" sets lose their grip after a few summers of high heat and foot pressure.

If you want that sporty look without the risk, I'd skip the basic aftermarket stuff and look at these two instead:

1. Toyota Genuine Sport Pedal Covers for bZ4X - These are basically OEM spec in other markets. They're rock solid and wont budge cuz the rubber is molded specifically for the pedal assembly.
2. Lexus RZ450e Aluminum Pedal Set - Since it's the same platform, these fit perfectly and feel way more premium than the cheap stuff.

Tbh, safety is everything with brakes!! I'd rather spend more for peace of mind... just my two cents tho.

TL;DR: Stick with Toyota Genuine Sport Pedals or the Lexus equivalents for a factory-secure fit that won't slip.

In my experience, you definitely want to be careful here because the last thing you want is a pedal cover slipping while you're regen braking in a bZ4X. Over the years, I've tried many cheap sets and honestly... most of them are garbage and feel super flimsy. If you want that high-quality feel without the drilling, I'd suggest looking at two main paths.

Option A is going with the LEXUS RZ450e Aluminum Pedal Set. Since the bZ4X and the RZ share the same platform, these are basically a perfect fit and give you that OEM+ reliability. They're definitely pricier but the grip is literally perfect. Option B is the Cravenspeed Billet Aluminum Pedal Covers, which are super solid and use a very secure mounting system.

Comparing the two, the Lexus parts feel more integrated, but the Savini Aluminum Non-Slip Pedal Covers for Toyota bZ4X are a solid aftermarket choice if you want something a bit more budget-friendly. Personally, I'm a bit cautious about anything that just "clips" on. I'd highkey recommend the Lexus RZ swap if you can swing the cost cuz it's safer and looks way more premium. Just make sure the rubber backing is fully seated over the metal... it's kinda a pain to get on but once it's there, it wont budge. gl! 👍

Honestly, coming from a long-term ownership perspective, the one thing people always forget about is the dead pedal or footrest. Most of these sets just cover the two active pedals, but it looks kinda weird when you have shiny aluminum next to a cheap plastic block. If you want to find the real deal parts that arent listed on the main US sites, I suggest checking out Amayama or Partsouq. They have the full exploded diagrams for the bZ4X and you can often find the JDM-spec part numbers there which are usually much higher quality than the universal stuff. A couple of major warnings though from someone who has seen these fail after two or three summers:

  • Watch out for rubber degradation. The backing on many no-drill sets will get brittle from the floor heaters in winter and the cabin bake in summer, which is when they start slipping.
  • Check the thickness of the plates. Since the bZ4X uses a Hall effect sensor for the accelerator, you realy dont want to add too much stack height that could interfere with the physical end-stop or the signal range.
  • Make sure the grip pattern doesnt trap too much salt or mud if you live in a snowy area, because it can be a nightmare to clean and actually makes them more slippery than the factory rubber.

Honestly, I was in the same boat when I got my bZ4X. I'm always super cautious about anything that could compromise safety, especially when it comes to the brakes. I initially looked at the high-end stuff, but I found that Xotic Tech Aluminum Non-Slip Pedal Covers for Toyota are actually a fantastic value if you're on a budget but still want that secure, drill-free fit.

I've had mine for six months and they haven't budged an inch. Basically, they use a heavy-duty rubber backing that wraps TIGHTLY around the OEM pedals—it's honestly a bit of a workout to get them on, but that's exactly why they don't slip. For the price, the grip is surprisingly solid even when my shoes are wet. Plus, they give it that sporty look without costing a fortune. Just make sure you soak the rubber in hot water before installing; it makes the process SO much easier. Stay safe and good luck!
