Hello, I'm planning to use it with Toyota Land Cruiser and need a backup camera recommendation. What would you take?

For Toyota Land Cruiser I would take BlackVue DR900X Plus. Best choice currently.

My clear recommendation for Toyota Land Cruiser: Vantrue N4 Pro Dash Cam. The performance is outstanding The perfect fit is ideal for daily driving.

Technical highlights: The latest generation offers significantly better quality. Very good compatibility with Toyota Land Cruiser features. Can be used without problems for various purposes. Even after extended use, no quality losses. Very good build quality, even at high usage.

Just saw this. Tbh, some of these dash cam setups are kinda overkill for just backing up, and unfortunately, the tiny screens on some of those premium units just arent as good as expected when you actually need to see behind a big LC. I had issues with visibility at night with the cheaper sensors too. Ngl, i ended up using the Wolfbox G840S 12 Mirror Dash Cam and it is way more cost-effective. It basically turns your whole rearview mirror into a high-def screen which is super helpful if you have kids or gear blocking the back window. Quick tip: pay the extra few bucks for the hardwire kit so you dont have wires dangling over your dash. If you need any help figuring out which fuse to tap, just ask!

Honestly, before you jump in, there's a few things we gotta know because the Land Cruiser community has some pretty specific standards for these rigs. * What year or series are you running? The wiring for an LC200 is totally different from an LC100, especially regarding the CAN-bus integration and the harness connectors.
* Are you looking for something that plugs into the factory display, or are you doing a full aftermarket head unit swap? Tbh, with my current setup, I learned the hard way that you realy need to prioritize the ingress protection rating. I've seen so many guys in the groups buy cheap units that fog up after the first car wash or a dusty trail day. I ended up getting a kit with a high IP68 rating and a sensor that handles low light way better. Basically, you want to make sure the field of view (FOV) doesn't have too much fish-eye distortion, or your depth perception when backing up to a trailer will be totally off. It’s definately worth checking the community reviews on specific mounting brackets too so it looks factory and doesn't vibrate loose.
