Hey everyone! I'm finally taking delivery of my ID. Buzz next month and I'm beyond excited to get it out on its first camping trip. Since it’s such a unique vehicle, I’m wondering what specific gear works best for the interior layout. I've been looking at the Ququq camping box, but I'm also curious about custom-fit window shades for privacy and a mattress topper that actually fits the folded seats comfortably. Are there any EV-specific accessories you’d recommend for managing power or storage? I'd love to hear about the setups you guys are using to make the space more livable. What are your absolute essential 'must-haves' for a weekend in the Buzz?

After years of van-lifing, i went through this last year. Swapped expensive kits for a Zinus 4 Inch Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress custom-cut. ngl, its been a total budget win. Works well!

Yo! Saw this earlier, congrats on the delivery!! I've spent weeks camping in mine and realized safety is everything.

* Team Heko Wind Deflectors for Volkswagen ID. Buzz vs cheap fans: Honestly, deflectors are better cuz they're rain-proof and provide safer airflow.
* FireAngel FA6120-INT Carbon Monoxide Alarm: Basically a $25 must-have for safe sleeping compared to no protection.

I learned that prioritizing ventilation prevents wierd hazards. Safety-first is SO important! gl!

Sooo I've been through a few setups with mine already and ngl, the interior space is actually kinda tricky to maximize. Honestly, you might want to consider the QUQUQ BusBox-4 if you want that 'everything in a box' vibe, but it's like $3,000+ which is a lot of cash... basically a huge investment. I compared that against the VanEssa Mobilcamping Sleeping System ID. Buzz which is super solid but also pretty pricey.

For a more practical route, I'd suggest just getting a killer mattress topper like the Brandrup iXTEND folding bed ID. Buzzβ€”it's seriously comfy and actually handles the folded seat bumps way better than a generic one. Also, dont skimp on privacy; the Project Camper Magnetic Blackout Blinds ID. Buzz are a total must-have cuz they fit the windows perfectly without gaps. For power, the built-in 230V socket is great for low-drain stuff, but be careful with heavy appliances. IMO, starting with the mattress and blinds is the best choice before dropping big money on a full kitchen box. Good luck! 👍

In my experience, the absolute biggest game-changer isn't just the bedβ€”it's the power management. I've tried many setups over the last year, and honestly, you gotta look at getting an EcoFlow Delta 2 Portable Power Station. Even though the Buzz has that built-in 230V socket, having a dedicated unit for your fridge and tech is a lifesaver so you don't accidentally stress the 12V system, although the stationary climate control is literally a godsend for sleeping.

For the interior, those Ququq boxes are cool but heavy as hell and kinda kill ur headroom. I actually went with VanEssa mobilcamping ID. Buzz Window Bags instead of just shades. They give you privacy AND storage for clothes, which is super scarce in the Buzz cabin. Ngl, the most technical thing I did was swap a standard mattress for an Exped Megamat Duo 10 Mβ€”it fits the folded seats way better than a standard topper cuz it levels out those weird bumps. Plus, it’s self-inflating which saves so much time when ur tired and just wanna crash.

If ur looking for shades, I'd suggest the Blinds4Cars Volkswagen ID. Buzz Sunblind Set. They're super solid for keeping it lowkey and fit the window frames perfectly. Anyway, definitely play around with the "Standstill Climate" settings before your first night out so you dont wake up freezing lol. good luck!
