Does anyone recommend a sunshade for the Volvo EX30 roof?

I’m absolutely loving my new EX30, but with summer hitting hard, that fixed panoramic roof is letting in a lot of heat! It looks amazing, but the cabin gets pretty toasty during my afternoon commute, and the AC is working overtime. I’ve seen a few third-party mesh shades online and noticed Volvo offers an official one, but I’m worried about ease of installation and whether they actually stay in place without sagging. Has anyone tried the official Volvo accessory or a specific aftermarket version that fits perfectly? I’m looking for something that’s easy to pop in and out. Does anyone have a specific brand or link they’d recommend for keeping the temps down?

sooo I saw ur post earlier and finally got a sec to reply! basically, i'm a total nerd when it comes to thermal specs and honestly the heat soak on that glass is no joke. I've been running the Volvo EX30 Sunshade - Interior Roof for about a month now and I'm super happy with it.

Here's the technical breakdown of what I've found:

- The official Volvo one is actually a honeycomb polyester mesh that has a really high heat-reflection rating compared to the cheap $20 ones you see on eBay. It stays tight because it uses specialized tension clips that fit into the headliner gap—no sagging at all so far!!
- If you want to go the aftermarket route, Spigen Glas.tR Sunshade for Volvo EX30 is a solid alternative that uses a similar multi-layer fabric to block UV rays.
- Pro tip: regardless of which shade you get, look for one with a silver-coated reflective layer on the top side. It literally makes a 10-15 degree difference in cabin temp when parked.

I mean, if you want something that pops in and out easily, the official one is great cuz it folds down like those old-school twisty windshield shades. It's a bit pricier but the fitment is 10/10... definitely worth it to save ur AC and range lol. peace!

Ok so, basically these glass roofs are greenhouses lol. It literally eats your range when the AC is blasting to compensate. Ngl, I’m pretty sure the official Volvo one is the way to go for the best fit, but IIRC some people said it’s a bit pricey for what it is. I’d be CAREFUL with cheap mesh ones because they definitely sag over time... maybe check the forums for a clip-on version? 👍
