What performance accessories should I add to my new BMW M2?

I finally pulled the trigger on a new BMW M2, and while the car is an absolute beast stock, I’m already itching to personalize it and squeeze out a bit more performance. I’m coming from an older M240i, so I’m familiar with the platform, but this new generation feels like a totally different animal. I’m looking for suggestions on accessories or light mods that really enhance the driving experience without immediately voiding the warranty.

I’ve been looking into a few options like a more aggressive exhaust system to let that S58 engine breathe (and sound) a bit better, and maybe some lightweight forged wheels to reduce unsprung weight. I’m also curious if anyone has recommendations for high-performance brake pads or a front lip that actually adds functional downforce rather than just looking pretty. I plan on doing a few track days a year, so I want parts that can handle some heat but remain civilized for daily driving. What have you guys found to be the 'must-have' performance additions for this chassis? Also, are there any specific brands you’d recommend for carbon fiber aero bits that fit like OEM?

For your situation, I recommend focusing on the most cost-effective mechanical upgrades before dropping thousands on carbon. Since the S58 is basically a detuned M4 engine, it responds well to simple airflow tweaks. Honestly, don't waste money on a full cat-back yet. A high-flow drop-in filter like the BMC Performance Air Filter FB01104 is only about $100 and helps it breathe better without risking the warranty like a tune would.

Here are some budget-friendly must-haves for a track-capable daily:

* EBC Brakes Yellowstop DP42460R Brake Pads - These are around $200 for the front set and way more heat-resistant than stock while staying quiet for daily use.
* Mishimoto Silicone Intake Hoses - These smooth out the intake turbulence and are super cheap compared to a full intake system.
* Zunsport Front Grille Set for BMW M2 G87 - Seriously, get these for like $250 to protect your radiators from track debris; those open vents are a liability lol.

Sooo I just saw this thread and honestly, congrats on the G87! Coming from an M240i, youre gonna love how much more composed this chassis feels, but I totally get being nervous about the warranty. I tend to be pretty cautious with my own cars, so I always suggest starting with stuff that doesnt scream "modified" if you ever need to take it in for service.

Since youre planning some track days, you might want to consider a Camber Plate Kit from Ground Control or Millway. The stock alignment is fine for the street, but the S58 is heavy and you'll absolutely shred the outer edges of your tires without a bit more negative camber. It's a fairly stealthy mod that saves you a TON of money on tires in the long run, you know?

For the aero side, if you want functional stuff that isnt crazy expensive, check out the MHC+ GT Style Front Lip in Pre-Preg Carbon Fiber. The fitment is basically OEM and it actually feels solid at speed. But seriously, be careful with a front lip if your car is lowered at all... one steep driveway and its game over lol. Also, maybe look into Fall-Line Motorsports G87 M2 Oil Cooler Guard. The oil cooler on these is super exposed underneath and one stray rock could literally ruin your engine. It's way more important than a carbon diffuser imo. Just make sure to get it installed professionally if youre not comfy wrenching, right? Better safe than sorry! gl with the build!

* **Cooling:** Since you're tracking, look into the CSF catalog. They really dominate the S58 cooling market for a reason, and keeping those IATs down is huge for consistency on hot laps. Yo! Congrats on the G87, honestly the S58 is such a beastly engine compared to the old B58 in the M240i. I've been tracking mine and the first thing you HAVE to do is swap the brake fluid for Castrol SRF React Racing Brake Fluid and grab some Pagid RSL29 Brake Pads if you want to avoid fade after three laps.

For performance, here is what I recommend:

1. Exhaust: The stock midpipe is super restrictive. I swapped to the Active Autowerke G87 M2 Single Midpipe and it literally transformed the sound without being obnoxious for daily driving.
2. Wheels: I went with Apex VS-5RS 19x10 Forged Wheels to shed some unsprung weight—the turn-in feels way sharper now.
3. Aero: If you want real downforce, Adro BMW M2 Carbon Fiber Front Lip is the way to go. The fitment is basically OEM+ and it looks aggressive af.

Basically, start with the brakes and the midpipe first... you'll thank me later! gl!
