Which all-weather floor mats are best for the BMW i4?

Hey everyone! I finally took delivery of my BMW i4 eDrive40 last week, and I am absolutely in love with the car. However, with winter fast approaching and the rainy season already starting to kick in here, I’m getting a bit nervous about those pristine factory carpet mats. I want to keep the interior looking brand new, but I know that mud, slush, and road salt are going to ruin the carpets if I don't act fast.

I’ve been doing some digging, but I’m torn between a few different options. On one hand, the official BMW OEM all-weather liners look sleek and have that perfect integrated fit, but I’ve heard mixed reviews about how much liquid they actually hold. On the other hand, brands like WeatherTech and TuxMat seem to offer much higher sidewalls for better protection, though I’m worried they might look a bit too 'industrial' or bulky for the i4’s refined cabin.

One specific concern I have is the fitment around the accelerator pedal—I’ve seen some mats that leave a weird gap where dirt always seems to collect. Also, since the i4 is an EV with a slightly different floor layout than the standard 4 Series Gran Coupe (especially in the rear), I want to make sure I get something designed specifically for the electric model's dimensions.

I’m looking for something that strikes the right balance between premium aesthetics and heavy-duty protection. Does anyone have hands-on experience with the BMW liners versus third-party options like 3D MAXpider or WeatherTech? How do they hold up after a messy winter, and do they stay securely in place without sliding around?

Which all-weather floor mats would you recommend as the best overall choice for the i4 in terms of fit, durability, and style?

Curious about one thing: what's your actual budget for these, and how much "industrial" look are you really okay with? I remember when I first got my i4, I spent way too much time obsessing over the exact same thing. I actually started with some cheap universals from a local shop, but they looked terrible and kept sliding under the brake pedal, which was lowkey dangerous. I ended up returning them the next day because it just wasnt worth the risk for a car this nice.

Since you're worried about the accelerator gap and that specific EV floor layout, have you looked into the TuxMat Custom Fit Floor Mats for BMW i4? Honestly, if you want maximum coverage, these are probably the way to go. They have much higher sidewalls than the OEM ones and they basically cover every inch of the carpet. But yeah, they definitely have a specific "quilted" look that some people find a bit much for the i4's interior.

If you want something a bit more budget-friendly but still solid, the Lloyd Mats Northridge All-Weather Floor Mats are a decent option too. They're more of a traditional rubber mat style but they're custom-cut for the i4's dimensions. Anyway, let me know about the budget part because that really changes which way I'd point you. If you're willing to spend around $200, the options get a lot better than the basic stuff. gl! 👍

Sooo, for your situation, I would suggest going the budget route if you're worried about costs like I was. I mean, the OEM ones are pricey and kinda shallow... honestly, I picked up the WeatherTech FloorLiner 1st and 2nd Row for BMW i4 and they've been solid. They're basically $180-$200 vs the crazy dealer prices. Fit is tight, but tbh I'm a bit cautious about the pedal gap too... it's not perfect but it works for the slush. 👍

Honestly, it basically comes down to how much you wanna spend versus how much dirt you actually deal with. If youre worried about the budget, I think the 3D MAXpider KAGU Series Floor Mat for BMW i4 is the sweet spot. They're usually around $160-$180 for the full set, which is way cheaper than the OEM liners from the dealer.

The texture isnt that gross industrial plastic feel... it actually looks kinda premium in the i4 cabin but it's totally waterproof. Plus, they stay put way better than the generic ones. Seriously, dont waste money on the BMW branded ones if you just want something that works and looks decent for a fair price! gl!
