Just picked up my Blackwing and I'm so hyped! I've got my first track day in Austin next month but I'm a total noob. Sorry if this is a dumb question but what performance accessories do I actually need to buy for the car? Like brake pads or something? I have no idea where to start...

Yo, congrats on the Blackwing! Seriously such an amazing car, you are gonna have a total blast in Austin. Since you're just starting out, dont feel like you need to swap every part yet. The biggest thing is honestly the brake fluid. I highly recommend grabbing some Castrol SRF Racing Brake Fluid DOT 4. It has a super high boiling point which is huge because you dont want that pedal getting mushy when things heat up! Its cheap insurance compared to hitting a wall lol. Also, get a solid tire gauge like the Longacre Racing Deluxe 2.5 Inch Tire Pressure Gauge to keep an eye on your psi. Your tires will get way hotter than you think and you'll need to bleed some air out between sessions to keep the grip consistent. Just focus on having fun and staying on the line!

Like someone mentioned, reliability is huge. Im super satisfied with my Custom Grille Guards CT5-V Blackwing Mesh Screens. Theyre cheap, work well, and no complaints keeping track debris out of the cooling stack.

Just saw this today. Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed with the stock pads Cadillac ships these with... they're fine for the street but they really struggle with heat soak once you start hitting triple digits at COTA, unfortunately. Results were not as good as expected during my last session; I had issues with the OEM compound smearing on the rotors after just a few hot laps. Before giving you a full list tho, did you get the car with the factory carbon ceramics or the standard steel rotors? Also what seats are in it? If you have steels, you'll definitely want Ferodo Racing DS1.11 Front Brake Pads to handle that thermal load. Quick tip... grab a ZL1 Addons Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Bolt-on Jack Pads kit. Lifting these without them is a total nightmare and you'll probably mess up your side skirts or bend a pinch weld.

Regarding what #3 said about "Re: "Just saw this today. Honestly, I'm a..." - that data stuff is cool but maybe a bit distracting for a first-timer tbh. > I have no idea where to start... I'm just catching up on this thread and honestly, you might want to consider the safety logistics first. Be careful with factory recovery points... it's a heavy car. I would suggest a few basics:
