Must-have exterior performance mods for the Corvette Z06?

What are the absolute must-have exterior performance mods for a C7 Z06 if I'm planning on doing more track days this summer? I just picked up a 2017 Z06 in Watkins Glen Gray and I'm obsessed but I know these things can run hot. I live out in Phoenix so the heat is already a massive factor and I don't want to be that guy pulling into the pits after three laps because of limp mode.

I did some digging online and saw a lot of people talking about the Stage 3 aero kits with the big wickerbill spoiler but then I read on another forum that it actually adds way too much drag on the straights and might mess with the balance if I don't have the front splitter dialed in perfectly... its all a bit confusing. Some guys swear by the LG Motorsports cooling hood as a necessity for track guys in hot climates but others say it's totally overkill unless you're a pro driver. I'm just a weekend warrior with about a $5,000 budget for now. I want the car to look mean but it actually needs to perform and not just be for car shows.

Should I be looking into better underbody diffusers or just stick to the standard wing and splitter combo for now? Trying to get everything ordered and on the car before the season really kicks off in mid-September.

Like someone mentioned, the heat is the real enemy here. Before you drop five grand on aero, I gotta ask... are you running the manual or the 8-speed auto? It changes everything for cooling priorities because those A8s have a much harder time in the desert. If you want reliability, I have zero complaints after installing the DeWitts C7 Z06 High Performance Aluminum Radiator. It works well and is basically a direct swap. Also, definitely look into LG Motorsports C7 Corvette Manifold Heat Shields. Keeping that heat contained is a massive safety win for your sensors. Get the vitals stable before worrying about the wickerbill.

Just found this thread today. In my experience, managing the Phoenix heat starts with optimizing front-end airflow. Over the years, I've found the Katech C7 Z06 Carbon Fiber Front Splitter provides the best balance for that rear wickerbill without massive drag. It helps keep the nose planted while directing air where it belongs. I also suggest the ACS Composite C7 Z06 Front Brake Cooling Deflectors to avoid brake fade, as they're essential for those high-temp track days.

I've spent years tracking in the desert and honestly, aero is secondary to survival. My 2017 hit limp mode constantly until I focused on airflow over looks.

I'm dealing with the same Phoenix heat, its brutal! My buddy spent a fortune on parts but it was a disaster... shoot me a message if you want to chat!
