Does anyone know which tonneau covers actually fit the Mojave bed without needing a ton of modifications? Ive been owning Jeeps since the TJ days and usually its a breeze but I just bought a 2023 Mojave and every universal Gladiator cover I try seems to have issues with the factory rail system or the seals just dont sit flush at the bulkhead.

Im trying to stay under $1100 and I need it done before my trip to Moab next month because I cant have my gear getting trashed by desert dust. I looked at the BakFlip but I heard it blocks the rear window too much when its up and the roll-ups seem flimsy for off-roading.

  • must be weather tight
  • needs to work with the trail rail system
  • shouldnt rattle like crazy on washboard roads

Is there a specific brand that actually accounts for the Mojave trim height and rail setup or am I just stuck with the overpriced Mopar one?

I have been through several setups and honestly, you might want to consider the Rough Country Hard Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover for Jeep Gladiator if you are trying to keep costs down before your Moab trip. It is significantly cheaper than the Mopar version and leaves plenty of room in your budget for other gear. Just be careful when installing it with the trail rails because you need the specific mounting brackets that slide into the tracks. I would suggest keeping these points in mind for the Mojave bed:

  • Check the bulkhead seal thickness since the Mojave tends to have a slight gap there compared to other trims.
  • Use a separate tailgate seal kit to stop the desert dust from swirling in from the bottom.
  • Ensure the rail clamps are tightened down after your first few miles on washboard roads as they tend to settle. It is a solid, budget-friendly alternative that won't block your entire rear window like the BakFlip does. Just make sure to double-check the tension on the latches so it doesnt rattle when things get bumpy out there.

I would suggest being real cautious with those bulkhead seals. You might want to consider the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Hard Folding Tonneau Cover. In my experience, its jaw-grip clamps are way more secure for the Trail Rail system than the cheaper options. Just make sure to verify the specific T-slot adapter kit is included so it wont rattle on those washboard roads.
