I’m looking to get my Kia EV9 set up for towing a small camper this summer. I’m curious if I should go with the OEM hitch or if there are better aftermarket options like Stealth or Curt that won't mess with the rear sensors. Does anyone have experience with the wiring harness install on the Land or GT-Line trims? Which setup offers the cleanest look and best clearance?

Ok so, I actually tried going with the Curt 13520 Class 3 Trailer Hitch because it was way cheaper, but honestly? It hung sooo low and kinda ruined the ground clearance. I switched to the Stealth Hitches Kia EV9 Towing Starter Kit and it's basically invisible when you aren't using it. It wont mess with ur sensors either! Wiring the GT-Line is a pain tho... unfortunately the OEM harness is probably safest if ur worried about the warranty, but the Stealth look is literally the best. gl!

Ok so, I'm literally so excited for you to get your EV9 out there! For your Land trim, I'd honestly suggest checking out the Kia OEM Tow Hitch C4F61-AU000 along with the Kia EV9 Towing Wiring Harness C4F67-AC000. I was super nervous about the safety tech too, but going with the official Kia parts feels way safer for the sensors! It looks amazing and basically fits perfectly. Good luck with the camper!! 👍

Just sharing my experience: I went through this last year and honestly, it was a bit of a headache because I'm super cautious about the safety tech. I originally looked at the Draw-Tite Class 3 Max-Frame Trailer Hitch 76688 because I've used them before, but I was worried it would mess with the smart liftgate sensors on my GT-Line.

I ended up going with the Kia EV9 OEM Tow Hitch Receiver because I wanted that factory-guaranteed integration with the stability control systems. It's definitely NOT as hidden as the Stealth option mentioned earlier, which is kind of disappointing if you want a clean look, but I felt safer sticking to the manual's specs.

Comparison-wise:
- OEM: Best for sensor compatibility and wiring, but hangs low and looks a bit bulky.
- Draw-Tite: Cheaper, but can be a gamble with the kick-sensor.

TL;DR: I prioritized the factory harness and safety over aesthetics. Anyone else have issues with the harness install? lol

Just sharing my experience: I went through this last year and honestly, it was such a headache trying to save a few bucks. I originally tried to cheap out with a generic kit, but the fitment was literally tragic and it messed with my backup sensors constantly. Sooo annoying. I ended up biting the bullet and getting the Kia EV9 Tow Hitch - Land/GT-Line Spec through a local dealer because I was terrified of the wiring on the GT-Line trim. It cost way more than I wanted to spend—nearly $800 after labor—but it integrates perfectly with the software.

I also looked into the Tekonsha T-One Connector 118870 for the harness, which is a bit cheaper if you're doing a DIY, but the OEM setup just feels more solid for the long-term. Plus, the ground clearance on the stock one is actually decent compared to some of the bulkier aftermarket bars I've seen. Honestly, if you're worried about the tech, just go OEM. It's expensive but way less stressful! lol

@Reply #1 - good point! I really wish I had seen your post before I spent money on my current setup. I tried to be practical and save some cash by picking up the Torklift EcoHitch for Kia EV9 because I wanted that hidden look without paying dealer prices. Unfortunately, the ground clearance has been a total disaster. I have scraped the bottom of the hitch on standard driveways more times than I can count, which is honestly just depressing for such a nice car. I also tried to save on the electronics by using the Tekonsha ZCI Zero Contact Interface Universal ModuLite instead of the factory harness. Regrettably, it is not as good as expected. My blind spot sensors keep getting confused when I have the rack on, and the whole install felt super flimsy. Ngl, I have spent more time troubleshooting the trailer lights in the rain than actually towing anything. It is one of those cases where trying to be cost-effective just ended up giving me a long-term headache. Wish I had just gone a different route from the start.
