So I finally upgraded to the 2024 Sportage Hybrid last week and I am honestly panicking a bit about the interior. I have been using WeatherTech liners in every car I have owned since 2010 but I saw a couple posts on a Facebook group saying the hybrid trim has a slightly different floor layout near the back vents or something compared to the gas model and now I am second-guessing everything. I live in Seattle and the rain is already starting to turn my driveway into a swamp so I need these like yesterday. I am taking the kids up to Rainier for a hiking trip next Friday and I really do not want mud all over the factory carpets.
I checked TuxMat but they seem huge and maybe too fancy looking? I just want something that catches the liquid and doesnt slide around under the brake pedal. Here is what I am looking for:
Does anyone know if the SmartLiner ones actually cover the dead pedal properly or if the OEM Kia ones are better for the HEV layout? I just dont want to deal with the hassle of a return if they dont clip into the floor anchors right or if they block the airflow to the battery...
The Sportage Hybrid floorpan is unique due to the battery intake... Ive looked at the specs and here is what actually works:
Honestly, I had a pretty frustrating experience trying to save money on those generic Amazon sets. Unfortunately, most of the "custom fit" stuff totally ignores the battery intake vent on the side of the rear seat base. If you block that, youre looking at potential cooling issues for the battery which is just a nightmare for a brand new car. I tried some cheaper ones first and the fit was just... depressing. They shifted around and felt super cheap under my boots. Since youre doing Rainier soon, id maybe look at Husky Liners WeatherBeater Floor Mats 2023-2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid. I know you usually go WeatherTech, but the Husky ones have a grippier texture for slush and they specifically leave that vent space open. If you want something less bulky than TuxMat, the 3D MAXpider Kagu Floor Mats Kia Sportage HEV 2023-2024 are solid. They dont slide at all because of the hook backing. Both are usually under 200 bucks and ship fast. Youll get it sorted, the Sportage is a great ride once the mats are in!
I am always worried about accidentally blocking stuff I shouldnt, so I've tried many brands over the years... honestly just go with TuxMat Custom Car Mats. In my experience, their hybrid fit is super reliable for the battery vents. Those high walls are basically a requirement for Seattle mud tho. They usually ship pretty fast so you should have them before your trip... better safe than sorry with the new car.
