Hey everyone! I just finally took delivery of my new Mazda CX-90 PHEV in Artisan Red, and I’m absolutely loving the drive so far. The interior feels so premium, but now that I’m actually living with it daily, I’m realizing I need to gear up to keep it looking fresh and to make the most of the hybrid setup.
I’m specifically looking for recommendations on a few things. First, the gloss black trim on the center console is already becoming a total fingerprint and dust magnet—has anyone found a high-quality precut PPF or a sleek cover that doesn't look cheap? I’m also trying to decide between the OEM all-weather floor mats versus something like TuxMat or WeatherTech, especially for protecting that third row from the kids.
Since this is my first plug-in, I’d also love to know if there are any specific cable management tools or storage bags you recommend for the charging cable in the trunk. I want to keep the cargo area organized without everything sliding around while I'm using that EV torque! For those of you who have had yours for a few months, what are the absolute 'must-have' accessories you've picked up that actually improve the daily experience?
Dude congrats on the Artisan Red!! Seriously, that paint is stunning. Coming back to the technical side tho, you DEFINITELY want to protect that interior. For the mats, it’s basically TuxMat Custom Car Mats for Mazda CX-90 vs WeatherTech FloorLiner HP. TuxMat offers way more vertical coverage—literally covering the sides of the footwell—which is better for keeping the carpet pristine. WeatherTech uses a more rigid TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer), but it doesn't look as premium in the CX-90 cabin imo. For the gloss black, skip the cheap plastic covers. Get a high-quality XPEL Ultimate Plus Interior PPF Kit. It’s an 8mil polyurethane film that is self-healing, so scratches literally vanish. Plus, it maintains the OEM look without adding bulk. For cable management, I’ve been using the Lectron EV Charging Cable Carrying Case for the OEM Level 1/Level 2 charger. It keeps the trunk organized and stops the cable from sliding during heavy acceleration. Basically a must-have for the hybrid life. gl with the new ride! 👍

Ok so, I definitely agree that max coverage is the way to go for the interior. One tiny addition though: from a reliability and safety standpoint, just make sure whatever mats you end up with use the OEM locking clips. Since the CX-90 has that floor-mounted accelerator, you really can't risk anything sliding around or bunching up down there. Also, for the PHEV setup, I’d honestly recommend bookmarking the NHTSA site or a reliable TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) tracker. Staying informed on the technical updates for the high-voltage system is basically the best way to ensure long-term reliability for your battery and charging hardware. Tbh, it’s better than any physical accessory for keeping the car on the road. TL;DR: Focus on mat fitment for pedal safety and keep an eye on technical bulletins for the hybrid system's longevity.
Same setup here, love it
