So Ive been driving S-Classes for over a decade now and I figured switching to the EQS would be a breeze since my local guy said theyd have plenty of inventory by now. My logic was that with the production ramp up I could just walk in and snag a 580 with the hyperscreen but every place Ive called in the tri-state area says they only have 450s or they are pre-sold. Im getting kinda stressed because my current lease is up in three weeks and I really dont want to extend it again. Anyone seen any 580s actually sitting on lots in Jersey or maybe PA? Im ready to pull the trigger today if I can find one that isnt marked up 20k over sticker...

Been through this dance so many times with new launches, honestly. Over the years I've learned that tri-state dealers are the absolute worst for markups when something is hot like the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC Sedan. In my experience, if you're trying to dodge that 20k market adjustment garbage, you gotta look way outside the immediate metro area. I once drove six hours to a tiny dealer in central PA just to save 10k on a lease deal. It sounds like a pain but for that kind of money its basically a paid vacation. Check out some of the smaller family-owned spots near Allentown or even heading towards Pittsburgh. They usually dont have the same pressure to gouge people. Also, double check the build sheet on those 450s because sometimes a high-spec Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 4MATIC Sedan might actually have the hyperscreen as a standalone option, but people ignore them. Just a thought if you're crunched for time... those extensions really add up.

Like someone mentioned, the tri-state is a total mess right now. I spent weeks trying to hunt down a Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC Sedan with Hyperscreen and honestly, the whole process was a huge disappointment. Every time I thought I had a lead at a place like Mercedes-Benz of Princeton, I would get there and they would hit me with a market adjustment that made my stomach turn. It is just not the same experience as the traditional S-Class buys I am used to. I eventually gave up on the local guys and started looking at dealers out in the Philly suburbs. Places like Mercedes-Benz of West Chester sometimes have more reasonable inventory, but even then, it is a gamble. If your lease is up in three weeks, you might be better off looking at a Lucid Air Grand Touring just to see if you like it... the EQS supply chain is just broken right now. It really sucks when you are ready to spend that kind of money and nobody wants to take it without a 20k premium. Ngl, it has been a headache.

I totally feel your pain because I just went through this exact hunt! Those Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC Sedan units are like unicorns right now because everyone wants that Hyperscreen tech and the insane safety suites. I actually found a lead at Mercedes-Benz of Cherry Hill in NJ last week and they were amazing to deal with! No crazy markups which is fantastic. You really want to stick with the 580 tho, not just for the power, but because the 4MATIC system and the active lane keeping stuff makes it feel way more planted and safe than the RWD 450. Honestly, try calling Ray Catena in Edison too. They usually get the largest shipments in the tri-state area. Just make sure you double check the build sheet for the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC specifically because some units had sensor variations in the early production. Safety first, right? Good luck, you are gonna love how solid it feels!
