I just took delivery of my R1S Quad-Motor last week, and I’m absolutely in love with the performance! However, after just a few trips to the local trailhead with the kids and our dog, I realized that the factory carpet mats aren't going to survive the season. I really want to preserve the interior, especially since I went with the lighter Ocean Coast theme, and I’m already seeing some dirt settling in.

I’ve been browsing the Rivian Gear Shop, but the official all-weather mats are a bit pricey, and I’ve read some conflicting reports about the coverage in the third row. I’m looking for something with a really precise fit that won't slide around on the flat floor. Specifically, I'm curious about how certain brands like TuxMat or 3D MAXpider handle the sliding tracks for the second-row seats—I definitely don’t want anything that bunches up or interferes with the seat movement when we’re loading passengers.

For those of you who have been living with your R1S for a few months, which mats have held up the best against mud and spills? Do you find that the aftermarket options provide better dead-pedal coverage than the OEM ones?

Curious about one thing: are you sliding those second-row seats daily for the kids? I've had issues where thicker mats jam the rail sensors, which is a realy big safety concern. Honestly, most brands dont grip that flat floor or cover the dead-pedal area well. For better technical specs and TPE safety, check out Lasfit Floor Mats for Rivian R1S. TL;DR: Verify rail clearance and dead-pedal grip for safety!

So, basically, the flat floor in an R1S is both a blessing and a curse. Because there’s no transmission tunnel, dirt just migrates everywhere if you dont have high-walled protection. With your Ocean Coast interior, you honestly gotta prioritize maximum coverage cuz that light carpet is a magnet for stains. In my experience, the factory mats just dont cut it for a quad-motor lifestyle. Here’s how the top two aftermarket options stack up based on my testing: 1. TuxMat for Rivian R1S: These offer the most vertical coverage, literally going all the way up the sides of the footwell. They cover the dead-pedal area much better than the OEM mats and the fit is incredibly snug so they wont slide around. 2. 3D MAXpider Kagu Series All-Weather Floor Mats for Rivian R1S: These have a cleaner, more 'OEM+' look with a textured finish. They're thinner than TuxMat, so they definitely wont interfere with the second-row sliding tracks. tbh, if you have a dog and kids, I'd go with the TuxMat for Rivian R1S. The coverage near the seat tracks is superior and they feel more premium than the rubbery alternatives. good luck!

In my experience, you gotta go with TuxMat for the R1S. The coverage is literally insane and they use clips that keep 'em from sliding on the flat floor! They handle the seat tracks way better than the OEM ones, so you wont have bunching issues when moving seats. Plus, that extra dead-pedal coverage is key for protecting Ocean Coast. Honestly, just get any set from TuxMat and ur set. gl!

Honestly, I’m kinda hesitant to trust the pre-molded "perfect fit" mats because I’ve heard they can still mess with the tight clearance needed for the R1S seat tracks. (at least that's what I'm worried about lol) Instead of spending $300+ on a kit that might still slide, I'm looking into a DIY approach to get the exact specs I want for the flat floor. My quick tips for the self-service route:
* Grab a high-quality roll of G-Floor Coin Pattern Universal Flooring and use a cardboard template to cut pieces that leave the rails 100% clear.
* Apply a heavy-duty DIY ceramic sealant like CarPro Fabric 2.0 to that Ocean Coast carpet before putting any mat down for a double layer of protection. Basically, it saves a ton of money and you ensure the sensors never trip. Do you think manual trimming would look too "cheap" for a Rivian though? I'm still trying to figure out if the exact weight of the rubber affects the floor's acoustic damping specs, but I'm just a beginner at this technical stuff haha.

TL;DR from this thread: high-walled mats are a total necessity for that Ocean Coast. Most suggest TuxMat, but I'm kinda cautious about complex clips. For a more budget-friendly approach, maybe try these: * WeatherTech FloorLiner HP
* BestEvMod R1S All-Weather Floor Mats Honestly, they’re decent options and basically save you some cash. Just be careful with the sliding tracks so nothing catches... better safe than sorry, right? gl!

Building on the earlier suggestion about the DIY route, I honestly think that's the smartest play here. I've been digging into the technical tolerances of the R1S seat tracks and unfortunately, most of these premium mats are just too bulky. I had issues with a buddy's setup where the sensors actually threw a code because the mat lip was interfering with the travel. It's kinda disappointing that we're expected to pay $300+ for something that isn't even engineered for the actual clearances of the quad-motor seat rails. If you're looking to save money and get a better technical fit, Smartliner Custom Fit Floor Mats for Rivian R1S are a decent budget alternative. They use a slightly thinner TPE material which, ironically, works better with the sliding tracks than the thick padded stuff. Another solid, cheaper pick is the Husky Liners Weatherbeater Floor Mats. They arent as fancy looking but the friction nibs on the bottom actually grip the flat floor better than some of the high-end brands. TL;DR: Avoid the thick, padded mats if you move seats often. Thinner TPE like Smartliner or a DIY cut from a heavy-duty roll will save you $150 and stop the sensors from tripping.
