Ive been a Volvo guy for a decade now so I thought I knew exactly what I was doing when I got the XC90 Recharge last month but man these new flush rails are driving me crazy. I tried swapping over my old Thule WingBars from my V90 but the fitment is totally off and the clearance for the panoramic sunroof seems way tighter than it used to be. I really dont want to scratch the glass or ruin my electric range with some bulky setup before our big ski trip to Vermont in two weeks. Im looking to spend maybe $600 max but everything I find online has conflicting reviews about wind noise on the hybrid. Which roof racks are actually the best for this specific PHEV model?
> the clearance for the panoramic sunroof seems way tighter I suggest Thule WingBar Edge for Volvo XC90 Flush Rails. It is more aerodynamic to protect your range and sits high enough for the glass. Be careful during the initial installation tho.
Honestly, you might want to consider the Volvo Genuine Load Carriers XC90 Flush Rails instead of trying to piece together a Thule kit. I would suggest these because they're tested for that specific panoramic roof clearance. Be careful with old kits, Ive seen some sit too low and crack glass. They're usually around $350 at the dealer and wont mess with your range too much.
