I just took delivery of my G80 BMW M3 Competition and the paint looks incredible, but it definitely needs some carbon fiber to really round out that aggressive look. I’m currently looking for high-quality exterior mods that have perfect fitment—specifically considering a front lip, side skirts, and maybe a more aggressive rear diffuser. I've seen a few brands like Vorsteiner and M Performance, but I'm worried about the weave matching the factory carbon roof. Does anyone have experience with specific brands that offer the best bang for your buck without compromising on the clear coat quality? I’d love to know which pieces you think make the biggest visual impact for a daily driver!
Quick question—are you aiming for the 2x2 weave to match the OEM roof exactly, or are you open to more aggressive 1x1 patterns?
I'm honestly obsessed with technical specs, and it's a toss-up for daily drivers:
* Vorsteiner VRS Aero Front Spoiler Carbon Fiber PP 2x2 Glossy vs Adro BMW M3 G80 Carbon Fiber Front Lip: Vorsteiner matches the factory weave perfectly, but Adro is literally NEXT LEVEL for that aggressive look, even if the weave is slightly different.
* RKP Carbon Fiber Side Skirts G80: These have a super precise clear coat that wont yellow over time, unlike some cheaper sets I've seen.
Basically, if you want that OEM+ vibe, Vorsteiner is king, but Adro is sooo much more unique!!
yo congrats on the new g80! seriously, the paint on these looks sick but i totally get why ur looking for carbon... it just feels like its missing something without it. honestly i went through this exact same struggle a few months ago cuz i wanted that aggressive look but didnt want to drop $10k on just a few pieces lol.
so basically i looked at M Performance Carbon Fiber Front Attachment vs some of the aftermarket stuff. the m performance is nice but sooo expensive. i ended up going with Vorsteiner VRS Aero Front Spoiler Carbon Fiber PP 2x2 Glossy instead cuz the fitment is actually really good and it matches the factory roof weave almost perfectly. but i will say... be careful with the lower lips if ur car is lowered at all cuz i've already scraped mine twice 🙁
for the rear, i would suggest the M Performance Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser if u can find a deal, otherwise Unit17 G80 M3 Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser is a solid middle ground for the price. basically m performance is the safest bet for clear coat quality long-term, but vorsteiner gives u a much more aggressive vibe for a daily driver imo. just make sure to get some ppf on the front lip cuz rocks will literally destroy it in a week!! gl with the build!
Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, you can spend a fortune on brands like Vorsteiner, but if it's a daily, you're gonna scrape that lip eventually lol. I've been super happy with RW Carbon BMW G80 M3 Carbon Fiber Front Lip and their RW Carbon BMW G80 M3 Side Skirt Extensions. The 2x2 weave is a solid match for the roof, and it's way cheaper than OEM—usually around $600-$800 per piece. Def saves some cash for more mods later!
Honestly, I have been doing so much reading on this because I am reallyyy scared of buying something that doesnt fit right or messes up the paint. Basically, if you want to be super safe, I keep seeing people talk about the Unit17 UK G80 M3 Carbon Fiber Front Lip Spoiler. They supposedly have really good quality control and the weave is a 2x2 that looks very close to the roof. It is a bit of an investment, but for a daily driver, you want that peace of mind, right? Another one I looked at for the back is the Akrapovic Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser - High Gloss. Its crazy expensive tbh, but from what I have gathered, their clear coat is basically bulletproof and wont yellow like some of the cheaper stuff. I am still a bit of a newbie with this, but I think focusing on those brands known for high-end manufacturing might be safer than trying to save a few hundred bucks and regretting it later when the carbon starts to fade, you know? It is just such a big risk to take on a brand new car.
