Delivery day for the R1S dual-motor finally happened but these stock mats are a joke for Denver winters. I thought the floor was identical across trims but the DM seems slightly different in the middle than the early quads. Need:

  • High walls for slush
  • Under 250 bucks
  • Quick shipping

What brands are actually fitting the DM builds right now?

TL;DR: LinerX All-Weather Floor Mats for Rivian R1S save cash. Careful with pedal clearance tho, stay safe. Quick question: what was your actual build month for that DM?

Congrats on the new R1S! Spent way too much time obsessing over this for my DM last winter. You're right about the floor pan. It is slightly different. Some early gen mats just dont sit flush. Just tried a couple and here is the breakdown:

  • TuxMat All-Weather Floor Mats for Rivian R1S: Honestly, I'm super satisfied with these. The walls are insanely high. Like, they go almost to the seat rails. Perfect for that Denver slush. They look a bit more premium too.
  • Husky Liners Weatherbeater Floor Mats for Rivian R1S: These are more of your standard heavy-duty rubber. They're cheaper. Honestly indestructible. But they dont cover as much carpet as the TuxMats do. The TuxMats were right around your budget and shipped pretty fast. No complaints so far. They catch everything and dont slide around at all... which was my main worry with the DM floor.

Re: "Congrats on the new R1S! Spent way too..." - tbh seeing people swap out factory mats right away always makes me a bit nervous after what my cousin went through last year. He was so worried about the slush and mud in his new rig that he grabbed these heavy-duty high-walled mats that were supposed to be the best thing ever. He thought he was being smart and saving money, but the fit was just a tiny bit off near the driver's side footwell. One afternoon he was coming down a mountain pass and the mat actually shifted forward. It wedged itself right under the brake pedal so he couldnt get full pressure when he needed to slow down for a curve. It was a terrifying ordeal... he had to use the curb to scrub speed and ended up trashing his rims just to avoid a massive pileup. He saved maybe a hundred bucks on the mats but ended up with a huge repair bill and a lot of gray hair. Whenever I see these new floor pan designs, I just worry that the aftermarket hasn't caught up to the safety specs yet. I would suggest being really careful about anything that doesn't use the exact factory mounting points or has too much play. If those clips don't feel 100 percent solid, I wouldn't even put them in the car, honestly. Safety is just too high a price to pay for clean carpets...

In my experience, the DM floor pan definitely has some subtle changes. Over the years I've tried many brands and for Denver slush you need high walls. These basically fit the DM build best:
