I just picked up a brand new Dodge Challenger and want to make sure I'm setting it up right from day one. I've already been looking at oil catch cans and heavy-duty floor mats, but I'm curious about what else is essential. What are the absolute must-have accessories or minor mods every new owner should buy first?

Just sharing my experience: I went through this last year and man, these cars are basically rock magnets. Honestly, the very first thing I did after noticing a few tiny chips was install ZL1 Addons Deluxe Rock Guards. They’re super low profile and basically saved my rear quarters from getting shredded by road debris. Since you mentioned oil catch cans, I went with the Speedlogix Billet Oil Catch Can instead of the one mentioned before, mostly cuz the mounting bracket felt more solid for my technical setup. Another thing that really satisfied me was swapping the stock brake pads. The dust on these cars is INSANE, so I switched to PowerStop Z23 Evolution Sport Brake Pads. My wheels stay clean for weeks now and it works well with no complaints on stopping power tho. Lastly, if you want to fix the dim interior lighting, the Diode Dynamics Interior LED Conversion Kit is a cheap upgrade that makes the cabin feel way more modern at night, you know? Hope that helps ur build progress!

For your situation, I would suggest looking into some budget-friendly protection that most people overlook until it is way too late. When I first got my Challenger, I was so focused on the engine that I completely ignored how easily the interior and the underside get beat up. It basically broke my heart the first time I saw a scratch on my door sill from my own boots! Ngl, these cars are big and hard to keep clean, so you gotta be proactive. Here is what I recommend based on my own trial and error:

  • Definitely pick up some ZL1 Addons Jack Pads for Dodge Challenger. These cars are absolute tanks and if you ever need to lift it, you really gotta protect those pinch welds. I made the mistake of letting a local shop lift mine without these and let me tell you... it was NOT pretty. They are cheap insurance for when you are doing your own oil changes or rotating tires.
  • Grab a Veneer Center Console Organizer Tray for Dodge Challenger. Honestly, the stock console is just a giant pit where everything disappears. This little tray is a lifesaver for keeping your phone and keys from sliding around everywhere.
  • You might want to consider Mopar Door Sill Guards 82212428AB too. They are stainless steel and look factory. I did not get them right away and I totally regret it because my paint there is already kind of trashed. Anyway, just be careful with the fitment on some of the knock-off brands... sometimes it is better to spend an extra ten bucks for the real deal. gl! peace

Yo, congrats on the new ride!! When I first got my Challenger, I was obsessed with looks, but I almost lost the car cuz I didnt think about security. For your situation, I would suggest skipping the cosmetic stuff for a minute and getting a Destroyer1320 Neutral Safety Pull Cover immediately. It's like a 50 dollar mod but it stops someone from just pulling the neutral release to roll your car away... literally takes seconds for them. Also, since you mentioned catch cans, make sure to get the Billet Technology Signature Series Oil Catch Can with the Z-bracket. It fits way better than generic ones and saves your intake from gunk long-term. Just be careful with where you park until you get that lockout installed, you know? Better safe than sorry. gl!
