I just got my Bronco last week and honestly I am so stressed out looking at all these gear websites like I dont even know what half this stuff is actually for. I want to take it out on some trails near my place in Burlington this weekend but everyone online says you cant just go stock or whatever and you need all these mods. My logic was that the car is brand new so it should be fine right? But then I see people talking about recovery boards and winches and high lift jacks and I am just so confused because I dont even know how to use a jack that isnt the one for a flat tire. I have about 1500 dollars to spend right now which isnt much I guess but I just want the bare essentials so I dont get stuck in a ditch and have to call my wife to come get me. Should I get those plastic orange traction things? Or do I need a special pump for the tires? I saw someone mention a skid plate and I thought the car already had a bottom? Sorry if these are really dumb questions I am just totally lost and the more I read the more I feel like I bought a giant paperweight if I dont spend another ten grand on it... what are the actual things I NEED before Saturday?

> My logic was that the car is brand new so it should be fine right? Unfortunately, factory tires lack necessary sidewall reinforcement, and stock underbody protection is thinner than expected. For local trails, you need a high-duty cycle inflator. I had issues with portable units overheating, so grab a ARB High Output On-Board Air Compressor 12V. Also, budget traction boards are disappointing and melt instantly. Just get MAXTRAX MKII Recovery Boards Signature Orange so you dont get stranded.

Which trim did you get? Knowing if you have the Sasquatch package helps. I've been very satisfied with Staun Tyre Deflators Heavy Duty for quick adjustments; airing down is the best traction tip.

Regarding what #4 said about "." - basically, keeping things simple is smart. For 1500 dollars, just grab a kinetic rope for peace of mind. Look at the Rhino USA 1 inch x 30 foot Kinetic Recovery Rope versus the Bubba Rope Power Stretch 7/8 inch x 20 foot. Rhino is the budget king, while Bubba is premium. These ropes stretch, which makes recovery much safer for beginners compared to a static strap or chain.

Be careful side-loading factory hooks. Dont ever use a hitch ball for snatching since they basically become lethal projectiles under 10k lbs of tension. Saw a guy lose a window once. Anyway.
