Hey everyone! I finally joined the N club and picked up a 2023 Hyundai Elantra N a few months ago. I’m absolutely loving the stock performance—especially that rowdy exhaust and the DCT snappiness—but I’m already starting to get the itch to customize. I’m looking for recommendations on the best performance accessories to really sharpen the car up for some occasional track days and spirited weekend drives.

Since this is my daily driver, I want to be smart about what I add. I’ve noticed a bit of wheel hop during hard launches, so I’m currently looking into a stiffer rear motor mount (RMM) as a priority. I’m also curious if anyone has installed a closed-box intake or an upgraded turbo inlet pipe; do they actually provide a noticeable boost in throttle response, or is it mostly just for the extra induction noise? My budget is roughly $1,500 for this first round of mods. I’ve seen people mention everything from chassis braces to lowering springs, but I don’t want to sacrifice the ride quality in 'Normal' mode too much. For those of you who have already started modding your EN, what are the top performance accessories you’d recommend to get the most bang for my buck?

Ok so, i feel u on the wheel hop... it's literally the most annoying part of the EN. I’ve been down this road and honestly, I wasted a lot of money on flashy parts that just didn't do much. For your $1,500 budget, you gotta be selective to get the best results without ruining the daily drive. Here's the move:
- SXTH Element Engineering Gen 2 Rear Motor Mount (~$160): Absolute must for the hop, but be careful cuz the vibration (NVH) is noticeable at stoplights. - SXTH Element Engineering Turbo Inlet (~$190): This actually helps response. Don't buy a $600 intake; it's mostly noise. Pair this with a K&N High-Flow Air Filter 33-5100 (~$65) instead.
- Whiteline Front Control Arm Lower Inner Rear Bushing (~$130): Highkey helps with front-end feel on track. I tried cheap lowering springs and they basically ruined my ride quality, so I'd stay away from those if you want 'Normal' mode to stay comfy. Stick to the basics first... gl!

Sooo, just saw this thread! Ngl, while everyone loves the noise from intakes, I'd actually suggest a different approach if you're planning on hitting the track. Respectfully, I'd consider focusing on heat management and safety before power, because those bolt-ons mostly just add induction noise without much real-world gain. Since you're worried about 'Normal' mode comfort, a full rigid RMM might actually be too harsh for a daily commute... i mean, the vibrations can get pretty annoying in traffic. For your $1,500 budget, you want to build a solid foundation so the car doesn't give up on you mid-session. Basically, heat is the enemy of the EN on track. Here is how I’d spend that cash for the best bang-for-buck: 1. Powerflex Purple Shore 80A Rear Motor Mount Bushing Insert – This is way cheaper than a full mount replacement and fixes the wheel hop while keeping the cabin quiet. 2. Castrol SRF React Performance Brake Fluid – Honestly a MUST. It has a super high boiling point so you don't lose your brakes after three laps.
3. G-LOC R10 Front Brake Pads – These provide amazing bite for spirited drives but aren't as crazy aggressive as full race pads.
4. Velossa Tech BIG MOUTH Ram Air Intake Snorkel – Highkey better value than a closed box intake because it actually rams cold air into the stock airbox. But yeah, just my two cents! I'd definitely talk to a local shop about the brake swap if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself. Stay safe out there and enjoy the new ride!! 👍

Been using this for years, no complaints

Sooo I actually tried some cheap mods on my last car and unfortunately it totally ruined the ride... so disappointing. For the RMM, I'd compare: - Boomba Racing Rear Motor Mount Hyundai Elantra N: Super stiff, but ur teeth might rattle lol.
- TurboXS Rear Motor Mount Hyundai Elantra N: Kinda more balanced for dailying. I'd go TurboXS. Honestly, maybe skip the Forge Motorsport High Flow Intake if ur worried about reliability. Lesson learned: play it safe!

Ok so, for your situation, I would suggest focusing on your brakes and fluids before chasing power. Honestly, in my experience, I’ve seen way too many people get the "itch" for mods and forget that the track puts insane stress on a daily driver. When I first started tracking my current setup, I was all about that induction noise until I had a terrifying moment where my brakes started fading hard. Basically, the stock fluid just boiled under pressure. It was a huge wake-up call!! Since then, I’ve always prioritized high-temp fluids and more aggressive pads. Even if you only go occasionally, it’s lowkey the best way to spend your budget. I’ve learned over the years that being able to stop consistently is way more important than a few extra HP. Just my two cents... stay safe out there! 👍
