I just took delivery of my Jaguar F-TYPE R-75 and while the stock performance is incredible, I am already looking to see how I can take it to the next level. Since this is the final edition of the supercharged V8, I want to make sure I do it justice.

I have been looking into a smaller supercharger pulley paired with a Stage 1 tune, but I am also considering high-flow catalytic converters to really let that exhaust note sing. My main goal is better throttle response and maybe some suspension upgrades to help put all that power down more effectively.

For those who have modded your R or SVR, what are the absolute must-have performance upgrades for the R-75 to maximize its potential?

yo, congrats on the R-75!! seriously such a sick car to end the V8 era with. i actually went down this modding road with my R recently and honestly... it was kinda disappointing at first. i started with the VelocityAP Jaguar F-Type V8 Supercharger Pulley and the VelocityAP Stage 1 Engine ECU Tune but i had issues with heat soak. basically the car makes huge power for one pull then falls on its face cuz the cooling just cant keep up... super frustrating!! if youre gonna do the pulley you highkey need a better heat exchanger too. i also tried high-flow cats but they were almost too loud for daily driving, though the VelocityAP 200 Cell High Flow Cats definitely make it scream!! for the suspension, i swapped to H&R Sport Lowering Springs which helped that floaty feeling a lot. but yeah, just be careful with the throttle mapping, mine felt a bit jumpy and not as smooth as expected. anyway, do you plan on tracking it or just street use? gl with the build!!

sooo, just saw this. congrats on the R-75!! seriously, what a way to go out. honestly tho, everyone always wants to jump straight to the big power numbers, but as someone who has seen plenty of these AJ133 engines over the years, I'd say you gotta think about safety and long-term health first. the stock power is already borderline for the chassis, so if you're gonna push it further, you need a solid foundation. In my experience, here is how I would prioritize your build for real-world usage:

  • Option A: The Grip. Most F-Types come with Pirelli tires that are... well, they're not great. Swapping to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 295/30ZR20 is the single best safety mod you can do. It definately improves the 0-60 and keeps the car from being too twitchy under heavy throttle. You're looking at about $450 a corner, but its a huge value for the confidence it gives you.
  • Option B: The Stopping Power. If you go beyond the Stage 1 mentioned earlier, you're gonna need better heat management for your brakes. I realy recommend Porterfield R4-S High Performance Street Brake Pads. They are way better than the OEM stuff for street use and wont fade as fast when you're doing spirited runs. Usually around $350 for a full set.
  • Option C: Engine Longevity. These direct-injection engines get a lot of carbon buildup. I highkey suggest adding a VelocityAP Oil Catch Can Kit. It's a practical, low-cost way to keep your intake valves clean as the car ages. tbh, the pulley and the VelocityAP Stage 2 ECU Tune are great for the ego, but the tires and pads are what actually keep you on the road. i mean, whats the point of all that power if you cant put it down safely? anyway, gl with the new beast!

Honestly, im a bit disappointed that everyone jumps straight to boost without talking about how the car actually handles that extra torque. Before you go crazy with the pulley, r u planning on doing any track days or is this just for the street? Because unfortunately, the stock TCU software is gonna hold u back once you bump the power up. I had issues with my R where the car felt like it was hesitating between shifts cuz of the factory torque limiters... it basically kills the vibe. To really make it reliable and smooth, you should look into a VelocityAP Jaguar F-Type TCU Transmission Tune. It raises those limiters and makes the shifts way crisper which is what u need for that throttle response you mentioned. Also, I’d seriously check out the Eventuri Carbon Fiber Intake System Jaguar F-Type V8. Most people think intakes r just for sound, but on the AJ133, it actually helps with the pressure drop across the filters when the supercharger is screaming. It is about keeping things efficient so the engine isnt working harder than it has to... definitely helps with long term health.

Just seeing this now... honestly, the R-75 is a beast but you gotta be real careful before you start tearing into it. I have seen way too many people mess up a perfectly good F-Type by rushing.

  • Make sure you check the warranty situation before doing the pulley. Once you swap that hardware, JLR wont touch any engine issues, period.
  • Be careful with generic tunes. Some brands just crank the boost and timing without looking at the fueling limits. I would suggest sticking with shops that actually specialize in Jags specifically rather than a 'we tune everything' outfit that might blow your motor.
  • Watch out for the exhaust sound if you do high-flow cats. On the V8, some brands create a nasty drone at highway speeds that will drive you crazy.
  • Do not just drop the car on cheap springs. The active suspension is tuned for a specific stroke, and if you mess that up, the car is gonna bounce all over the place and handle worse than stock.

Quick question - are you planning to track the R-75 or is this just for the street? Honestly, those pulley and tune suggestions are solid, but you really gotta consider heat soak issues. In my experience, the AJ133 V8 cooling system is the weak link. Ngl, I'd check out the CSF High-Performance Heat Exchanger or a Pierburg CWA100-3 Intercooler Pump first to keep ur IATs safe before chasing more boost.
