I recently picked up a Kia EV6 GT, and while I love the performance, I feel like the stock ambient lighting is a bit too subtle, especially in the footwell areas. I really want to enhance the cabin's high-tech vibe to match the car's exterior. I’m looking for a kit that offers a clean, OEM-plus look—I’m particularly worried about messy wires or bulky controllers cluttering up the center console. Does anyone have experience with a kit that is either app-controlled or integrates well with the existing 12V setup? I’m looking for high-quality LEDs that won't flicker or look cheap. Has anyone found a specific brand that fits the EV6 interior dimensions perfectly?

Ok so, late to the party but I've been messing with interior lighting for years, and for a car as tech-heavy as the EV6 GT, you REALLY want to avoid the cheap generic strips. I've done the market research on this, and honestly, the best balance of quality and stealth is Winjet Automotive Interior Ambient Lighting Kit. Unlike the bulky universal boxes, these controllers are tiny and way easier to tuck behind the dash panels near the fuse box.

Another high-end option if you want that absolute OEM-plus feel is OPT7 Aura Pro Interior LED Lighting Kit. I've found that their Bluetooth app is super stable compared to the cheap stuff, so you don't have to clutter your console with a physical remote. Plus, the light output is super consistent without that annoying flickering that plagues the low-budget brands. It basically fits the EV6 footwells perfectly since the strips are flexible but rigid enough to stay put. Just tap into the fuse box and you'll have a totally clean setup that looks factory. gl!

Quick question - before I get into the technical bits, are you looking for a kit that's strictly plug-and-play into the 12V cigarette lighter, or are you comfortable with hardwiring into the fuse box for a cleaner look?

I mean, honestly, the stock lighting in the EV6 is pretty weak for a car that looks this futuristic... it's kinda disappointing. I've messed around with a few setups and found that most cheap strips look like total junk because the color matching is off. If you want that OEM+ vibe without messy wires, you basically have to look at something like the Govee DreamView T1 TV Backlight H6199 adapted for cars or the specific Type S Smart LED Deluxe Interior Lighting Kit with App Control.

Technically, the issue with the EV6 is the voltage sensitivity; some kits flicker because the 12V rail isn't as stable as they'd like. Unfortunately, I had issues with a generic kit from Amazon that literally buzzed whenever the car was charging. If you can clarify the wiring preference, I can give you the breakdown on how to hide the controller so it doesn't clutter ur console!

In my experience, you gotta be super careful with those cheap LED strips cuz they'll literally fry your 12V fuse or just flicker like crazy after 2 weeks. For your situation, I've tried many setups over the years and honestly, Govee makes some solid interior kits that hide well under the dash. I mean, the footwell space in the EV6 is kinda tight but their app-controlled stuff fits perfectly. Just tuck the wires behind the center console trim—it's actually pretty easy to DIY without making a mess!!

Honestly, I'd actually suggest a different approach. I tried a cheap DIY kit first to save cash, but the wiring was such a MESS it basically ruined the EV6's clean look. Be careful with those universal 12V kits cuz the controller boxes are huge and hard to hide. I ended up just getting simple, wired LED bars for the footwells instead. Way cheaper, and if you tuck them right, it looks totally OEM without the app bloat.

Man, I have been dealing with this exact same headache for like three months now and it is so frustrating. I have spent way too much time looking at the technical wiring schematics for the EV6 GT trying to find a high-quality way to tap into the power without it looking like a total rats nest, but unfortunately every kit I find looks like cheap junk. It really bums me out that a car this expensive and techy has such weak footwell lighting from the factory. I still havent found anything that actually looks OEM-plus either, it is like nobody makes a high-end kit for us yet.
