We just picked up our TX 500h last week and I'm already looking at how to gear it up for our trip to the Rockies in June. I've been looking at the official Lexus folding cargo tray because it looks clean but some owners on other boards say it's super slippery and stuff just slides everywhere anyway. I also checked out some generic nets on Amazon but I'm worried about the fit since the hybrid battery stuff under the floor might mess with the mounting points compared to the regular gas version. I really need a way to keep my hiking boots and grocery bins from flying around back there. Does anyone have specific mats or organizers that actually stay put in the hybrid?

Congrats on the new 500h. Honestly, I have had some major issues with the official cargo gear Lexus is pushing for the TX. The Lexus Genuine TX Folding Cargo Tray PK241-48P00 seemed like a good idea because it fits the third row perfectly, but its basically a skating rink for groceries. Its disappointing how little grip it actually has and I wouldnt recommend it for a trip to the Rockies. Heres a breakdown of what I tried before settling on a setup that actually functions:

  • WeatherTech Cargo Liner High Performance TPO: This is way better for sliding. Unlike the OEM tray, the High Performance material has a tacky texture so my gear actually stays put. The fit is tight even with the hybrid floor heights, tho you lose some access to the tiny sub-floor storage.
  • Canvasback Lexus TX Custom Cargo Liner: I really wanted to like this for the protection, but it unfortunately doesnt stop things from sliding at all. Its great if you have dogs, but if your goal is stopping boots from flying around, you wont find this enough on its own.
  • Lexus Genuine Cargo Net Envelope Style PT347-48240: Even though you mentioned being worried about fit, the official envelope net is the only one that uses the factory clips properly around the hybrid battery hump. Generic ones usually sag because the tension points are slightly off. Tbh I ended up keeping the WeatherTech and the official net. Its not a perfect system but the official tray was a total waste of money imo.
