I just picked up a new CX-5 and want to keep the cabin looking sharp while making it more functional. I’m already eyeing some all-weather floor mats and a center console organizer since that deep bin is a bit of a black hole. Are there any other specific interior accessories you’d recommend for a new owner?

Here's what I recommend: I compared glass vs film protectors and basically the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Mazda CX-5 10.25-inch is way better than cheap ones. I also tried the Mazda Genuine OEM CX-5 Cargo Tray vs generic mats; OEM fits ur trunk way tighter, tho it's pricier. Best choice is definitely the tray, but maybe generic mats work too??

Yo! Congrats on the ride!! If yours isnt wireless yet, the Teeran Wireless CarPlay Adapter for Mazda 2017-2024 is actually amazing for keeping that cabin cable-free. Technical tip: get one with 5GHz wifi for lower latency! Also, these JKCOVER Mazda CX-5 Interior Door Handle Storage Box 2-pack are like $15 and sooooo handy for storage. Fantastic, cheap upgrade for the cabin. gl!

Late to the party, but I wanted to weigh in. I have spent years testing different interior setups and I always prioritize safety and material integrity over flashy gadgets. Quick question for you before I get into it: do you have the signature trim with the Nappa leather or one of the standard interiors? The maintenance routine and the types of protectors you should use are totally different depending on those materials. In my experience, you should focus on these brands for long-term reliability:

  • For floor protection, go with WeatherTech Floor Mats or TuxMat Floor Liners. Both brands offer much better coverage and safety than the thin rubber mats you see at big box stores.
  • To protect your dash from UV damage, any custom-fit sunshade from Covercraft Sunscreen is going to be a solid investment.
  • For general upkeep, I have found that sticking with Chemical Guys Interior Detailer for your cleaning supplies ensures the cabin plastics dont degrade or off-gas over time. Stick to the proven names and you wont regret it later.

Since you've got a new ride, maybe look into the Viofo A129 Plus Duo Dash Cam. Technically, it's a decent option cuz it uses a supercapacitor instead of a battery... basically it wont fail during a crash or overheat like some cheap electronics. I think it's a functional mod that protects ur investment and keeps you safe, right?

Just sharing my experience: I went through this exact same thing a few years back. Honestly, that center bin is a total void... I kept losing everything! I ended up finding a few budget-friendly fixes that realy helped organize things without breaking the bank: * The CDEFG for 2017-2024 CX-5 Center Console Organizer Tray – it’s like $15 and adds a much-needed top shelf for ur keys.
* Drop Stop - The Original Patented Seat Gap Filler – seriously a lifesaver for when I drop my phone or loose change.
* CupHolderHero for Mazda CX-5 2017-2024 Custom Fit Cup Holder and Door Bin Liner Accessories 18-pc Set – stops those annoying rattles in the door bins. I've had these for over three years now and they've held up great. I found that going with these third-party options saved me a ton compared to dealership stuff, and the fit is basically perfect. Enjoy the ride!!
